If tweet fails to load, click here. Field saying the eagles avoided a dead money hit by re-signing Goedert before tomorrow. Thought it was Wednesday but guess not

The team/player can agree to a day the deal actually voids iirc, within reason. Most players do not want to wait and will push for the void date on the first official day of FA (it cannot be sooner).
So the Eagles actually did pretty damn well to get Goedert to agree to a delay.

No need to spread the hits out yet. They can (and likely will) be added later when we start converting salary next year. Only 3 big deals out of the 7 to boot.

SEems like a wild amount to give up for Waddle

Sean’s over aggressiveness with draft capital .. maybe he was part of the problem in our drafts after all

No maybe to it. Underhill and Trip mentioned that we actually had a couple of trade downs prior to the Payton era, and Payton was always hyper aggressive about getting his man by any means necessary both in the draft and in FA.
You could see that almost immediately relax under Allen (but not completely), and now seems to be almost pure patience under Moore (so far).

I'll be honest, it's a little TOO relaxed now
Mickey said in one of the pressers this offseason that they had guys in the draft room sweating bullets about waiting for our pick to get Shough.
that's the most important position, give up something inconsequential and move a few spots to make sure

I read about the Shough thing as well, and while I would have been fine moving up to make sure we got him, can you imagine the melt people here would have had? Honestly I think I would have preferred trying to get him at 32 rather than where we got him so we could have the 5th year. May have been worth a 4th or 3rd to do it (in fact it was one of my main criticisms of the pick).

I liked Andy, wish he could’ve stayed on as a backup
