For all the doom and gloom, 10-6 is still semi possible

Thoughts on if we end up being a fringe playoff wildcard contender, we keep the Drew train pumping? I know Payton ain't going nowhere with a 10-6 record.

Yea, it's possible. But it is far from likely. Maybe a 5-10% chance they turn thing around.

If the NFL told all Saints opponents. You aren't allowed to run your offense only the Saints are going to run offensive plays then may be we will go 10-6

We still have to play these QBs:
Matt Ryan 2x
Aaron Rodgers
Jameis 2x
What do you think those guys are going to do to our defense? If average/mediocre QBs like Bradford light us up..... Really good guys like this are going to have unstoppable rampages (See: Brady, Tom). All 5 of those are automatic losses as far as I'm concerned.
Then you have these QBs, which are decent:
Matt Stafford
Cam Newton 2x
Kirk Cousins
Jay Cutler
So let's assume that at least a few of these we show 'em whose boss. We win 3 of 5.
These QBs we play suck and may even be able to be stopped once or twice by our terrible D:
Jared Goff
Josh McCown
Tyrod Taylor
Let's say we 3-0 these folks
0-2 + 0-5 + 3-5 + 3-0 = 6-10

yeah, i concur. these two games are almost as winnable as any. we have got to build some positive momentum. 2-2 is better off than how we've faired lately anyways. If we lose this week, i just assume someone rip Drew's shoulder off in the process.

The first 6 games are brutal, all 6 are playoff caliber teams, we just need to show we can be competitive.
Offensively it's hard for us to sustain drives when they blanket Thomas and snead is not available as a safety valve.
Defensively it's 2 new starters on the DL (onyemata, Okafor), 3 new starters at lber (Klein, Te'o, and Anzalone), and arguably 3 new starters at db (Williams x2, lattimore)
It takes time.

14-2 is still semi possible as well ,but call me crazy I don't see either of them happening. We need to face it we are a 7-9 team again if we are lucky. I was optimistic about this year ,but that game Sunday made any and all optimism disappear.

This defense is worse than ever. With really bad defenses the last 3 years we went 7-9. With this defense I doubt if we can win 6 games.

This defense can't stay this terrible and have Allen keep his job.
