The theory goes like this: The Cowboys part ways with Garrett after his contract expires, and the Cowboys lure Sean Payton from New Orleans to Dallas in 2020.

Maybe, we'll win the super bowl in 2019, brees will retire, and I could see Sean take a crap load of Jerry's money

Sean Payton is not going to go from the power he has here to work for the Jones boys. If he ends up in the NFC East one day, think Giants.

Why would Payton do that to himself?

End up with the Giants one day? Good ownership to work for in the biggest market. But the idea he'll be leaving here any time soon when Gayle Benson will let him keep having big power for a HC is ridiculous.

Never will happen in a million years. The same place where the fans called for his head, and Jim Fassel bowed to media pressure to remove his play calling duties.

Never will happen.

Yeah, that's exactly what Jerry Jones wants to bring to Dallas, the one guy that Roger Goodell hates and wants dead.

Was basically a generation ago. Means nothing now, and Giants fans would be thrilled to have Payton as their coach.

Payton isn’t Anthony Davis, he isn’t going somewhere just bc the Media wants it.

The Dallas connection made sense years ago because his kids were living there after the divorce. The kids are over 18 now.

I believe that this year we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of this rumor. With all of the money Jerry Jones has helped Payton get from the Saints, I would hope that Sean has named at least one of his children after JJ.

I can 100% see it. I never thought Payton would rebuild the Saints after brees and this is probably the last year coming up

I just hope Saints can defense a SB for brees as Denver did for Payton
