First round busts - who is accountable?

I give kudos to the Saints for finding diamonds in the rough in Graham, Evans, Moore, Hartley, etc...but sooner or later having 1st round busts year after year will catch up to you.
Who is being held accountable for the following first round picks who are not even close to living up to their hype and potential
W. Smith
Bush
Meachem
Ellis
Jenkins
Robinson
Jordan
Ingram
These guys might have 2-3 Pro Bowls between them. To me, that constitutes a bust and something wrong with talent evaluation.

They might not have lived up to their potential, mon, but come on. Both were more than solid role players on our Super Bowl run. For that they are worth their first round pick.
You could argue the same for Will Smith, plus his longevity has to count for something.
I agree on Ellis,Jenkins,Robinson,Jordan, and Ingram though.

Not a bust, just getting to the end of his career.

Bush
Not a bust. He's doing well in Miami.

Meachem
Not a bust, doing well in San Diego

Ellis
Decent argument for a 'bust' but I don't think he's a total bust.

Jenkins
Too early to call a bust.

Robinson
Are you serious?

Jordan
Not a bust, great in the run, never was billed as a pass rusher

Ingram
Wrong kind of back for the Saints' system, don't think he's a bust in another system where he gets more carries.
So, in your opinion, a bust is a 1st rounder that doesn't consistently make it to the pro bowl? There are a LOOOOOT of busts around the league if that's the case.

Anyone who thinks Will Smith is a bust is stupid.

I don't think I could call any of those busts.
You should take a look at what other teams have drafted in the first round and compare careers.
The Saints are actually pretty good.

You can definitely call Sedrick Ellis a bust. Not to Sully's level but he's the highest drafted player on the team. Would anybody watching him play have guessed that?

Loomis is accountable, and as such, he's been suspended for the first 8 games of the season.

Meachem...doing well in San Diego?
The guy had two reception in week one and zero catches last week. Hardly doing well.

PRob is the biggest loser on that list

P-Rob was playing really well towards the end of last season, but he looks like he's having trouble (as is the rest of the defense) adjusting to the zone coverage scheme. He still has time to develop into a solid player.
Ellis is the biggest bust imo as of right now.

Did Saints talk just time travel? I see this thread on the main screen with just three post, but I refresh the original thread, and my post is still there, but I click on the other thread, and it's just 3 replies.

Every player we have selected in the 1st since Will is not only still playing but STARTING in the NFL.
That's amazing.
I would bet that is the best in the NFL over the same time frame...I'm too lazy to look it up.
I would dare say we have done closer to the top of the NFL...
None or these guys are bust, what a stupid thread.

Jordan has been playing really well so far this year. he just needed time to get adjusted to the speed of the game. Bush may not have been worth the #2 pick but he played huge role in our superbowl run. Ingram was a pick i was not happy with and so far has been disappointing. Meachem did his job when he was here but probably not a 1st round choice. something needs to be one, most of our 1st round picks have been average at best, or some are absolute bums like Smith. Need to do a better job of scouting and evaluatiing talent
