Nuss will be a first round pick next year and start immediately and will be better than Carr from day 1.
Exactly like Jayden Daniels was.
Is Carr better than Daniels? Was Carr better than Daniels 1 year ago?
Negative. He was not.
Only thing stupid is thinking Carr is anywhere near adequate. He’s not.
We have like a 100 game sample size. He shown what he can do, which isn’t much. He will never be a SB caliber QB. Full stop.
For that reason, move on.

You keep Carr one more year to see if he can excel in KM system, if not, you put Rat in mid year and see if he does.
If not , we draft high, cut both and move to the future.
KM needs to get his feet wet, starting off with a non vet at QB isn't the best setup.

My thing is we know Carr doesn't elevate a roster like a great QB.
We know he's getting up there.
We know it will take a few years for this roster to be rebuilt.
It's just not going to work out with him.

The decision to keep or get rid of Carr has nothing to do with his performance.
It’s purely financial at this point.

Holy shite this is some dumb as dribble! Do you seriously believe that a grown man who has made the profession of NFL football against the best football players in the world can’t go in and outplay a 22 year old college kid?
Carr is an average QB. He won’t elevate a team, but he can play average QB play. Are you really going to judge him behind the crap offensive line and scrub WRs we’ve had the last two years.
No, he’s not all pro. He’s just a mid level average QB that throws a good deep ball, limits turnovers and has the occasional derp moment every game. He can start for a lot of teams. He could start for the Jets, Browns, Titans, Colts and Giants for sure. Probably a handful of other teams too.
Don’t be such an extremist. You sound like an emotionally jilted woman or something.
Also, your Jaden Daniel’s comp is dumb. Washington has much better offensive players and coaching than we do. And the fact that Nuss is projected to be a 1st rounder doesn’t mean a damn thing. Caleb Williams was 1st overall and Carr played head and shoulders over him.

I think he ends up in New York, just not sure which team.

You could trade him for a low pick and agree to eat some salary this season.

Its what I was asking but how would it look cap wise this and next year.

Nuss will be a starter day 1 and better than Carr. This is the best I’ve read today. Some of you folks I swear.

Drag his worthless arse down to the East to Copart and take whatever they offer

Sure seems like a 23 year old kid 4 months out of college did exactly that last year.
Multiple.
Where the frick have you been?

I like Carr, but he does not fit the situation. He does not provide what the team needs.

I have not seen anyway that we can cut him. We could only do it as a post June 1 cut, but we have to be cap compliant in March and we can not do that by keeping him at his current cap figure. I don't see any feasible way he is not with the team next year.

You can restructure everyone else and also cut a few players and tell the mto hang out we'll resign you post june 1st.
iirc if hes' cut and labeled as a post june (i.e. like they did Thoms.) Carr could seek a new team prior to junes 1st just not sign his contract till post june. i.e. Winston.
His post june savings would be ~35mil. at that point the team would already be above the cap so the 35 mil would be in addition to that.

if we do a post June 1st cut how much dead money in 2026?

Can you be specific how we would get under the cap without doing anything with Carr?
