The scouting report on Smyth when Gruppe won the job was that he had a cannon for a leg but was very inconsistent with his accuracy. Nothing has changed.

Watching a replay of his miss the flags at the top of the post were barely moving…and what little movement there was was left to right. His kick tailed right to left…so against the wind. He shanked it. Wind had nothing to do with that miss.

Dude! That is hard to watch. I understand a miss here and there. But this is pretty bad. Almost another miss.
