FanSided's Mike Phillips calls Tyler Shough the Saints best pick this year

New Orleans Saints - Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
Derek Carr's shoulder injury created a big hole under center for New Orleans and grabbing Shough, one of the oldest prospects in the class at 25, gives the Saints a pro-ready option who can start right away for new head coach Kellen Moore. Although Shough doesn't have the type of upside a guy like Jalen Milroe may have, he has a very high floor and gives New Orleans a chance to find a short-term fix under center.

I don't think Slough was a good pick. It'd be nice if he worked out. But Fansided is garbage and their contributors are basically just another person on Twitter.

We all want this to work. It’s the huge odds that it won’t that’s undeniable, as well as the tough position it puts the team in next year if it has a top 3 pick.

Shut your mouth. We found a site that supports the pick and makes the team look smart
My biggest concern with the Slough pick was where they picked him. If you expect him to be a productive starter, move back into the first round and get that 5th year protection. If you are drafting him as a project player that you hope will be your starter, but could be a long-term back up for the team; 40 was too high

I don't think it was our best pick because I think we killed it in rounds 3 and 4. But like it or hate it. QB was a need, We got what every team had as the 3rd or 4th best QB in this draft in the second round. If it works out we will see but not bad value in a weak QB draft.

The same face painters hailing this pick told us Garret Grayson, Ian Book, Jake Haener, etc were Diamond in the rough great replacements for Brees.

Shough is not going to be a "starting QB" in the NFL. He may get some starts, but he isn't a "starting NFL QB", if you get my drift.
Wasted 2nd round pick
Wasted 2nd round pick

And this what separates the winning organizations from the losing ones. We seem to always draft for need instead of best talent available.
Its why we drafting where we are and the eagles and Ravens draft where they are.

Land of make beleive.
First legitimate Brees replacement discussed was Teddy and Jamies.

Saints took a gamble on QB that some experts like. There only a few QBs are homerun picks. It will be interesting for sure during training camp.

There were rumors before the draft that a few teams had Shough as the top rated QB in this draft. I don't hate the pick. In fact, I predicted it on this board after round 1.
The pick I do hate is Vernon Broughton at #71 in the sense that we picked him a round or two before he was predicted to go. Time will tell if the Saints FO (and Bo Davis) knew more than the draft pundits

The fact you think Jameis and or Teddy Bridgewater could have ever been legitimate replacements proves that none of your opinions matter
