Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals
Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills
Aaron Rodgers – New York Jets
Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers
Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles
Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens
Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars
Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys
Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams

Honorable Mention:
Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns
Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings
Jared Goff – Detroit Lions
Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints
Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins

Additional Votes:
Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals
Daniel Jones – New York Giants
Justin Fields – Chicago Bears

I mean it's all subjective But based on Last year my adjustments below

Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs - Agreed
Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals - Agreed
Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills - Agreed
Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers - Up one
Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles - Up one
Aaron Rodgers – New York Jets - Down two
Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens - Agreed
Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars - Agreed
Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys - Agreed
Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings - Looked slighty better than Stafford when both were playing last year

Honorable Mention:
Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams - Injuries suck but wasn't lighting it up before injury really
Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins - Really turned it on last year and looked good aside from the scary concussion stuff
Jared Goff – Detroit Lions - Goff and Carr nearly even for me
Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints - Goff and Carr nearly even for me

Additional Votes:
Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns - I know all the talent in the world but looked horrible in his return last year.
Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals - Meh
Daniel Jones – New York Giants - Probably should move up but that is a good team also
Justin Fields – Chicago Bears - I don't get it....but okay I guess

One thing that is overlooked about Carr is he is truly a leader of men. Some might discount that quality, but look at what we have rolled out there with Jameis and Andy. Neither of them commanded the level of respect amongst his peers that Carr does.

Rooting for Carr to suck so you can be right on a message board is such a huge dork move

I'm not so much concerned with past ranking as much as how he does going forward. I think that if the team runs a ball control balanced (run/pass) offense that fits Carr's style of play that things will take care of themselves. Brees said that Carr is very good at quickly identifying a defense and taking advantage of it
(like Brees could). I see the team going back to using more screen passes, and establishing the run to take advantage of play action going hand in hand with Carr's abilities. This will allow him to more confidently take that shot downfield. He has a stronger arm than Dalton or Brees and at least the range of Winston. Run the offense , take care of the ball and win games and everything else will fall in to place.

The lack of NFC QB's is crazy. Out of Hurts, Dak, Stafford, Cousins, Goff, and Carr I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that we look at Carr as #2-#3 in the NFC after the season. Not saying it's likely or probable, but I wouldn't be absolutely shocked.

Please explain? Where did I say I was rooting for him to do terrible? Rather, I’ve accepted he’s just a guy that the franchise and its fans are worshipping to no end and are going to be disappointed in.

Learn to separate reality from your black and gold wet dreams, homer.

Who is worshiping him to no end? How old are you, son?

Carr is at 17 for me out of the players listed. He is not better than Goff, Watson, Tua, Cousins, Murray or Jones right now.

Daniel Jones? I know you like to melt about Carr, but that has to be a joke.

Uh, this board who makes excuses for him at every turn.

"He lead the league in turnovers." - bad defense
"Inconsistent player who makes throws he shouldn't make." - he has had X head coaches and X offensive coordinators
"He had his worst year ever with the best WR in football and the league's leading rusher." - McDaniels's fault

Everything he has done has an excuse. A true dindu.

Better completion percentage, less INT, higher passer rating, higher QBR with a bottom-3 WR/TE group. Plus 700+ rushing yards and 7 more TD last season.

Oh, and a road playoff win where he accounted for over 350 yards with no turnovers. Carr's never had a playoff win.

So Jones has been marginally better for one of his four seasons?

Good work.

For a free agent, he is certainly paid like he belongs in this group so my expectations remain in this range.

The top 10 are either rookie contracts or legit $50m/yr players, so if Carr did move into Top 10 it would be a surprise to anyone who negotiated his worth during free agency.

I do think we have the best of the $30m/year FA QBs

If he were making Watson money and still in this group - i'd be pissed.

Honorable Mention:
Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns - 5yr/$230m guaranteed
Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings - 1yr/$35m
Jared Goff – Detroit Lions - 4yr/$134m (3yr/$110 guaranteed)
Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints - 4yr/$150m (3yr/100m guaranteed)
Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins - rookie contract

Yeah, that was kind of the point of including “right now” in my initial statement that you replied to.

I don't see this at all.

I would say fans are hopeful and not throwing the guy into the trash prior to starting a game for us.

Carr is not, nor ever will be a QB who transcend the team/franchise. I think guys like Mahomes, Burrow, Rogers, Allen, would be great on any team. But he's talented enough to be really good in the right situation. Brees in San Diego was a solid QB. But not a guy ANYONE thought was destined for a HOF career. He had 3 seasons where he threw 16, 15, 15 interceptions. In his 4 years as the starter/primary starter he completely 62% of his passes. The Charges drafted his replacement after just 3 seasons. He then gets to New Orleans with Sean Payton and becomes one of the best QBs in NFL history.

I am NOT saying in any realm of possibility that I think Carr will suddenly transform into a Brees level player. But once to you start getting down that list past about player number 6 or so there probably isn't a ton of separation between No. 7 and Carr. They are all capable of producing big numbers, but not guys who are locks to do it year after year. Maybe the change in franchises, philosophy, personnel, etc is a catalyst to get the best out of Carr. Whatever that may be.

Alt, to your point perhaps, I'm more concerned about DA and the coaching staff than Carr himself.

We know Victory's take on Carr, he makes it known too often IMO.

This board somehow hates every aspect of the Saints... The city, Gayle, Mickey, DA, Carr, AK41, MT, etc... so it's difficult to separate discussions.

However, I think Carr has an opportunity here and although I would never expect Brees level change, we really don't know how it's going to work out.

Its the offseason right
Its when every team is undefeated and fans have hope. Imagine when games start! It says a lot about those posters who even at this time of year are bitter, profane and drink from the glass half empty.

I comprehended your idiocy just fine. One good season doesn’t make Jones a better QB to anyone but you.

Hence the reason I’m laughing.

Someone that doesn't have a glimmer of optimism in July really isn't a long time Saints fan. That's all we used to have long ago.

Hence the qualifier “right now.”

I know, English comprehension and understanding is hard, lil guy.
