He’s returned back to a pi machine and giving up too many big plays and missing tackles. Apple playing st a high level earlier in the season makes our defense as a whole much better: anytime Apple has a terrible game the whole defense has an awful game. We know what Lattimore is but the others in the secondary need to pick it up. I think ppl are also being to harsh on gardner also he had good coverage on kittle all day it’s one missed tackle that really ruined his day.

Almost as if it's hard to play CB2 after only resting a hyper-extended knee for a week

Obviously just an opinion but I think Kamara, Apple, and Armstead have all come back from injury a few weeks too early. Armstead did play well yesterday. We for sure need a first round bye

Well, yeah. You'll notice everything was fine when he was in press-man coverage. As soon as they put him 5+ yards off the WR, he becomes a complete liability and always has. The problem in the NFL is that you can't run man all day. They'll cross, pick, and double move you to death.

This is what I dont understand, why doesnt M Williams cheat towards his side and leave Laittmore on a island.

You know they are trying to exploit Apple.
All year they have.

Put a spy on apple.

According to this board we should run man and blitz 7 every play

If we are going to sit off the receiver, you might as well let him go in FA. He is terrible if he isn't in press coverage.

Especially since resting starters in week 17 has basically gone out the window

There are some flaws in Allen's schemes and teams are picking up on it.

The DBs and LBers on this team are straight awful at zone coverage, and so when Allen calls for it, they exploit it.

Allen has to find an alternative, but refuses to do so.

I think people also aren't realizing how much missing two starting LBers meant yesterday. They get the team lined up, and help keep middle coverage which helps keep the safeties free to be more reactive. With them out, the safeties had to guess more and got burned on misreads.

Apple is clearly a #2 CB, but he's not as bad as he's seemed the last 2 games. The ATL game was just bonehead and unnecessary plays. The SF game was the coaches getting outschemed.

Others in the secondary? Let's pump the brakes. Von Bell and Marcus Williams are both having career years.

I remember only ONE pass defended yesterday (Lattimore) and that was on the final series. Incredible!

I agree with this, people S**t all over klein because he isnt fast enough, but the dude can read defenses and make in game adjustments at the line pre snap.
Its crucial to Denis Allens Scheme. It shows how good of a unit Demario, Klein and alsono make together.

It doesnt help we got blown out this year with LB injuries either. Begal is having a great rookie year in Miami and having analzone go down early in the year just wrecked our S**t up.

Apple is still young, I wouldnt give up on him so soon. He is a great CB when you give him safety help and play him to his strengths.
