If Drew wants a shot next year he should re-sign with the Saints for a fraction of what he probably wants so we have salary room to get him all the tools he needs to get another ring as a Saint. At a certain point it needs to be about that ring and not the money with a true champion.

He doesn't need to work for peanuts. If he would just take like 15 mil we would have a lot more flexibility

That's what I'm afraid of. That's why our team has sucked and wasted many of his years, b/c of his contract. I'd rather lose him than sign him to some ridiculous contract. That Taysom Hill seems like a good candidate for QB. He's definitely got that "magic"

Thats what I mean. To him that is peanuts cause he's pretty selfish. It's why he only has 1 ring imo. At a certain point, it should become about legacy and not $$$. Especially when you're already loaded.

He should sign for as much money as he can get! Why? Because the NFL is a business, a multi billion dollar business. That’s the first thing they tell you when you get drafted. The franchise makes hundreds of millions dollars off of Drew Brees. So why shouldn’t he make MILLIONS off of them. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to oblivion, but that’s the truth

There's a point where people won't remember how much money you made, but how many championships you won.

TB12 is known for his championships but has made the same if not more than Drew.

Walk into your job tomorrow (assuming you have one) and tell your boss you want your pay rate cut in half. When he stops laughing just tell him you're doing it for the betterment of the team (company).

In before "it's different" and "I don't make millions of dollars a year" or some other bullshite, lame-arse excuse.

Yeah. That's what I thought...

do you have kids? if you did you would likely want to set up the financial future of both your children and gran children

would you do the same?

If you have kids and dont agree than you are a dumb shite
If you dont have kids, then you should still be able to comprehend

Tom Brady has made $197,166, 804 In his 18 year career. This isn’t counting endorsements

Drew Brees has made $194,710, 422 in his 17 year year career not counting endorsements

If I were Drew I’d make as much money as I could, PERIOD

So I was right lol.

The difference is, TB12's cap hit on those contracts.

Is another ring worth 10 million to you?

The post-career endorsements would cover this.
