It’s over guys. Payton has to call bubble screens because Brees can’t throw the ball more then 15 yards. If Brees cared about this team he would retire tonight. I know I’ll get a bunch of down votes but I don’t care.

It was less on him to be honest. He was at least accurate this game. Now that defense? Hooo shite. They cant stop ANYBODY.

He played fine tonight, good enough to win.

He was much more decisive, much more accurate, and hit some intermediate throws.

You’re not seeing the big picture. Karma was the reason he had that. There will be games where the defense will be ready for those bubble screen and karma won’t go far. You can’t win a Super Bowl like this.

Brees wasn’t the issue.

The defense letting no-named players run free, refusing to cover TEs, Hill fumbling the ball and CSP’s play calling lost this game.

They both were huge issues. He can't get the ball downfield to win games, our defense isn't dominant this year, so why keep going with both that clearly don't work together? They need to bench him and let Jameis play. As much as I have loved seeing #9 taking snaps over the years, his time is done.

If the defense was lights out like it was last year or the year before, I'd say keep things the same and see if he can string together enough wins to get to the playoffs. But we need a QB that can stretch the field. Period.

You know it’s entirely possible to put blame on more then one thing right? It isn’t all or nothing. Yes the defense deserves more blame but Brees also can’t (or won’t) throw the ball if it has to go like 20+ yards. Great teams have to be able to win shootouts if need be and this team can’t do that anymore.

This all day. The penalties and the fumble and the mediocre defense were bad but not fatal. If we had anything like a vertical passing gamne we probably could have overcome those things.
