I’ve spent this last week navigating the heartache and disappointment from the game. Some things within our control and some outside our control that caused us to fall short. So much of our motivation is to represent the Who Dat Nation with determination and resiliency. We want to play for you, fight for you, and win for you. You deserve that.
The longer I play I realize that we truly are one heartbeat with our fans. Our success is your success. Our disappointment is your disappointment. We are inspired by one another to accomplish things far greater than what we could ever do on our own.
Everything that has ever happened to this community, we have bonded together, galvanized and leaped forward every time.
The frustration we feel now can be channeled in the same way. Pour that passion and emotion into your families and communities. Inspire others with your focus & determination and positive outlook. This will make us stronger, this will bond us tighter, this will be a source for our success in the future.
There is no place like New Orleans. There is no community like ours. No fans like the Who Dat Nation. I refuse to let this hold us down. I refuse to let this create any negativity or resentment. I embrace the challenge.
So keep your chin up, hold your head high, puff your chest out because WE are the Who Dat Nation and WE will always persevere.

In other words, “Good luck New Orleans, I’ll be in San Diego if you need me”. “ See you next year”

TL;DR. He literally said nothing.

When does Drew go back to San Diego? Does he pull his kids out of school, or wait till the summer?

Step up your game drew. You were awful in the last games of the season.

I hear what Drew is saying, but heads still need to roll for this catastrophe....starting with Roger Goddell's!

I'm not feeling any closeness or bonding more indifferent and apathy. frick the refs and frick the NFL. This SB was stolen from us.

This is about as far as Brees is allowed to criticize publicly his employer the NFL.
None of us are allowed to publicly or even privately criticize our particular employers. If we did, we would not have our jobs for long.
As much as Brees would like to say something constructive to criticize the officials, he simply cannot.
If he were retiring, he may have made a more vocal comment. It appears he is comming back for more of the pain and business as usual.

I agree with Brees' statement about channeling the frustration into something positive for your families and communities.
I expected the NFL would ask Brees to make this type of statement for the good of the league and his employer the NFL.
I am taking all of Brees' comments to heart.
Thank you for all that you have done for the Saints fans and the New Orleans community, Drew.
Please respect my decision to never watch another NFL game ever again.

I’m pretty sure they go to Newman in the Fall and a school in Del Mar in the spring, but he was at the Pels game last week with his son so maybe that has changed.
As for his Twitter statement, I didn’t expect much. Drew has always avoided controversial comments. He’s positioning himself for an NFL brass position or players union position after he retires.

There are a lot of fans in this city that live and die by the Saints.
That is in no way healthy though man.

You’re a great guy Drew but Goodell still sucks!

What about all those drives the Saints got 3 points and not 7?
Refs?
