Drew Brees better win MVP

He currently has the highest Single Season QB Passer Rating in NFL history.
2018 Drew Brees 123.8
2011 A. Rodgers 122.5
2004 P. Manning 121.1
The league fricked over Brees in 2011 when he set 30 mind-boggling NFL records, but gave the MVP to Rodgers who set one NFL record, Passer Rating, indicative of passer efficiency.
This year, the media's MVP favorite, Pat Mahomes, is on pace to set some mind-boggling records, but has been nowhere as efficient as Brees has been.
You can't have it both ways. Brees deserves the MVP. You can give Mahomes the OMVP as a consolation prize.

He's going to win it - everybody realizes how overdue it is and his competitors (Gurley, Mahomes) are both super young and will have plenty of chances.

I think he should win it.
What he's doing so far is incredible IMO.

The Packers were 15-1 and Aaron Rodgers threw like 45 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Brees was incredible that year and the Saints were 13-3, but I don’t think the league exactly “fricked over” Drew.

He can't even get credit in here, what makes you think he'll win it?

Set nfl record for passing tds and far away the best player overall.
Top ypa
Top tds by 10
Top rating by 10
Top 3 yards
Top 3 completion rating
Freaking downright insane season for the era.
Brees has inched closer to Mahomes insane td rate the past 2 weeks.
Hopefully he can catch up with the prime time games and national games the next 3 weeks. Something like a 5td game would help out race Mahomes, if not keep up.

A huge advantage that Brees has is Payton is in his corner with the playcalling and Reid / McVay probably dont care as much about MVP as Payton does

Our better defense may not help. Sounds weird, but if Mahomes is more frequently in position to win games in the 4th Qtr, or the 2 min offense, voters love that shite.
Our games lately have been out of hand by then.

I'd argue Reid cares. I'm not worried about the rams (Gurley) winning as that talk has slowed down.
Brees is 10 passing tds, 9 total tds behind. He just needs one exceptional game that can catch up. Something like 400 yards, 5 TDs. From there he needs to just keep up or outpace Mahomes for a win. Doesn't hurt that kc should sit out possibly 2 games if they keep rolling.
Thatd put him at 3000/26/1
Compared to Mahomes 3150/31/7

Mahomes still has his bye week so numbers may be a tad inflated looking at them head to head.

What NFL record is Mahomes setting? His best stat (TDs) is on pace for #3 all time.
Brees on the other hand is on pace to set the NFL record for passer rating and a completion % that may never be broken.

Saw a headline on ESPN's website that Mahomes' girlfriend's stepfather died on Sunday. They're really pumping him hard from all angles.

Brees is going to have to steal a Ferrari to win this.

I'd say he was "fricked over" more in the 2009 season, when they gave it to Peyton for the FOURTH TIME.

He also had a much better stat line across the board than Peyton on 2009, and he sat in week 17. That argument is much better than the one against Rodgers 2011.

I was ready to pounce when I read the 1st line, but you really tied it together with the second, great point.
