I believe we can still finish #8 with a win vs ATL.

You need 1) atlanta to beat the Rams on MNF, 2) Raiders to beat the Chiefs, 3) Browns to beat the Bengals, and 4) Miami to beat the Patriots.

It’s possible. It’s not likely.

You have a few of these backwards. Can someone explain why MIA has anything to do with our draft pick?

A very likely scenario is ATL losses out, Cin/ KC win, and we finish #9 with ATL (LAR) at #8.

Not an expert on it, but everything I’ve seen says SOS is the first tiebreaker for draft slot

According to NFL.com its record first and SOS next. Miami’s SOS is lower than ours. If we win and they lose, they draft before us.

quote:

In situations where teams finished the previous season with identical records, the determination of draft position is decided by strength of schedule — the aggregate winning percentage of a team’s opponents. The team that played the schedule with the lowest winning percentage will be awarded the higher pick.

If the teams have the same strength of schedule, division or conference tiebreakers are applied. If the divisional or conference tiebreakers are not applicable, or ties still exist between teams of different conferences, ties will be broken the following tie-breaking method:

Head-to-head, if applicable
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games (minimum of four)
Strength of victory in all games
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed in all games
Best net points in all games
Best net touchdowns in all games
Coin toss

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure SOS is the first tiebreaker if there isn't a H2H.

Technically H2H wouldn't be the 1st "tiebreaker" because it eliminates the tie

"When teams finish a season with identical records, draft position is determined by strength of schedule — the aggregate winning percentage of a team's opponents", per NFL Football Operations. H2H looks like a tie-breaker used if SoS is identical as well. Stupid that H2H isn't used before SoS.

I’m fine with the 12th pick if it means we beat Atlanta in that shitass stadium.

We’re not going to be in position to draft Tate anyway. Only other player I’d take over Lemon that would be there at 8 and not 12 is Downs. Saints will still have a good player available at 12.

Actually works out well for them if they want to get a tackle and move fuaga to guard

Just trade back and take Vega, a true guard

Now that Miami is playing a resting NE, they might win and hit 8-9

I just hope the Saints pick players who have the evidence on tape and the character that the tape doesn't always show.

Hopefully they aren't suckers for the RAS Scores.

Or just the perceived riser in said draft.

If Fortner walks and gets the $6m per year that Sportrac has him projected for, could we get another compensatory pick? or do those not go out until the draft after you lose the player?

Is there a tankathon generator to pick games next week?

No way in hell KC doesn’t beat the Raiders. Raiders have to lock up the #1 pick

There’s a chance Cleveland beats Cincinnati but probably not

Where would we select with a KC win, CIN loss? I think we’d select 10th even beating ATL (and ATL losing tonight)

That would be nice. But we would still get the third place schedule if we beat the Falcons, which in reality is more important. Still want to end up on a winning note regardless.

Wow, 21-0 ATL. We need KC and Cinn to win next week and worst case we pick 9 if we win and Miami loses.

If Saints lose, they will be 8th. If they win it can be anywhere between 8-11; although I don’t see Miami winning w 1 seed still on the line for NE.

KC over LV & Cincy over Clev are key games to keep us at 9; assuming NE wins

Yeah I think Miami loses, KC wins and CLE probably loses but could be a toss up. And now we know Atl helped us out

So 8 is the highest we could pick. If we beat ATL, then pick 9 is most realistic (Miami loses to NE), but if KC and Cincinnati also manage to lose to the Raiders and Browns, then we could fall to pick 11. That's worst case scenario. Do I have that right?
