We could draft a RB with our 3 - 5th pick and be better off.

Ingram can go

Yeah why not. Worked great for Pittsburgh.

A second string RB leaving an NFL field early from lack of touches still blows my mind

No we won't. Our cap space is very limited and I think we spend the money rebuilding the interior of the OL and find a damn #2 corner. Ingram will get some money from somebody. The Saints already paid Pierre a decent contract but he is ridiculously versatile and I just don't see us paying another back when we can get another power back either through the draft or free agency cheaper.

Upgrading the O line means any back will do just fine.

Depends on the price. Todd Gurley's gonna drop out the first so no reason to panic.

Yeldon in the 3rd would be a great pick up. He seems like an excellent replacement for Pierre.. we all know he's good at screens and out of the backfield. Good enough between the tackles and big enough to be durable.

Duke Johnson from Miami or the starter at USC would be a good mid round pickups. Matt Jones could be a very good late round pick or UDFA. If Kenyan Drake comes out he's another athletic guy that could be had for mega-cheap in a later round.

We know this.. If you sign him for 4 years he will run like hell in that 4th year.

We should take the cheap RB approach like Belichick. As a matter of fact, give me Blunt on a 1 year deal for about 25% of what Ingram will cost.

Sorry Blount is signed through next season as well

Plus relatively speaking, 95 percent of running backs are cheap

No, and it is best for us to save the money and it is best for him to go somewhere else.

I think the Saints would be better off letting Ingram walk and spending money on the offensive line and defense and drafting a RB and sticking with a rookie, Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson.

Absolutely not. On offense we need every penny for 2 guards and a center.

hell no we does not resign him

ingram's a mediocre back at best, you can find better mid-draft and on the cheap. we need to invest in o-line.

I agree we shouldn't re-sign him, but he's not "mediocre".

Behind said crappy o-line in both run and pass protection, he's still currently:

12th in rushing yards (869)
10th out of the 12 in attempts (199)
T-8th in YPC (4.4)
7th in YPG (79.0)

Too many issues on this team and RB isn't one of them. We are deep enough that Khiry-PT splitting time would be fine, that's not taking into account a potential draftee in the mid-late rounds that could pan out very well (Murray was a 3rd)

He's not a fit for the offense cause he's not a good receiver. He was never a fit. Also, he's way to injury prone.
