I agree but we don’t know yet if Moore is going to be the stubborn type and have “his guy” since it’ll only be year two. Hopefully not though.

We playing the Panthers 8 times next year?

No.., we’ll beat at least 2-3 teams we not supposed to beat the Bucs 2x and go 1-1 with Car and ATL

I don’t think giving Shough more than 1 year to prove himself is being stubborn

So this will be my potential problem with the Shough pick (I don’t mind it right now). If we suck this year, Shough just looks like a rookie QB, and we pass on a top QB prospect I’ll be livid.
this is a very specific and unlikely scenario, but if Shough looks like a "rookie QB" and we suck enough to have a top five pick, we're not going to pass on a top QB. That's a 2-3 win season! Rest assured, we will not pass on Arch Manning because Shough looked OK as a rookie. More likely scenario is he looks like a rookie and we're picking 10-15. More difficult call there.

Do you draft a 2nd round QB knowing you need a QB???

There would be nothing wrong with drafting another QB in 2026.

Trade the #1 pick to Cleveland for 3 #1s.

Depends what the head coach sees from his 3 young QBs in camp.

Haener and Rattler are not franchise QBs so we need to see Shough….
Shough has a 1 year audition before Saints picking in Top 5 next year.

Under this scenario, I would say it’s likely we pick a QB in the top 5 next year….
and the lesser of Haener and Rattler gets cut !!

I think we'll be one of the worst 3 teams in the league.

Why is everyone so convinced this team will be the worst team in the league this year?

We won 5 games last year with:
- The easiest schedule in the league
- The WORST coaching staff in the NFL, maybe in the last 20 years
- A lot of injuries

It is very reasonable to expect #2 and #3 to be much better situations this year. Not to mention we once again have a very, very easy schedule.

I'm not trying to argue we will be a playoff team, but IMO it is most likely we win soemwhere in the 5-8 game range and pick 12-16

The first two wins were a fully healthy team with an above average starting quality NFL QB. We likely don’t have that this year, no disrespect to Shough. 5-8 wins still is very plausible though I think.

I worry about some of you, I do.

So after everything that has happened today, you think it was a desperation pick? You know Carr and the Saints didnt just work this out today right? The Saints drafted Shough in the 2nd because the knew they would need a QB.

Im not saying it was a desperation pick but wouldn't it make it more likely it was if they Saints knew Carr wouldn't be back?

You know that depends on how Shough does. I think we will be, yes.

There’s a reason most of the NFL related sites have our roster ranked in the 30s. They aren’t biased like posters here who are “fans”. 5 wins would be great this year.
