I'll give them credit for taking advantage of our turnovers and I hate that I sound like an Alabama fan when I say this, but we really beat ourselves.
San Fran didn't do crap until that god awful pick 6 to end the half and the defense only gave up 17 point the whole game. Another gift a pick 6 and all of a sudden even after making the game only 28-21, we completely abandon the run.
I just don't understand the complete 180 of the philosophy in the second half. I'll never understand how or why we force Brees to have to win games for us When the running game was being just effective enough for play action to be even remotely believable.
It wasn't until we went pass only when Brees started getting obliterated every snap.

They beat the shite out of us with their REAL tough guys. Their pounding does the talking, as opposed to our fake tough guys like Harper and Jenkins who like to get up talking shite after 20 yard gains. Neither had much to say today with the real deal on the other sideline.

we got whipped up front.

i know we had some injuries on the line going in and got some more during the game but yeah they got us again up front.

our D-line didn't get much of a pass rush but I thought the run defense was a lot tougher. Bunkley got more snaps, he usually doesn't because of the formations we run. We have run a lot of nickel and dime defenses all year and have been gashed by the run as a result.

Yes, not only outplayed, they out physicaled them. 49ers bitch-slapped the Saints back into reality.

Brettsaurus is good people, but he's also a huge Saints apologist.

They outplayed us. Took our lunch money. Physically dominated us all over the field.

They play tough, and the fans cry they are playing "too mean" and want a penalty every play. I wish our D was a 1/4 as aggressive and good as theirs.

Yes, they did. That defense is something else. They put the clamps down when they had to and didn't allow anything else.

Play calling didn't help either Brees or the O-Line after getting a 14-7 lead. Carmichael got away from the run, max pro sets & screen altogether. Hell, we didn't see a screen called until it was desperation time in the 4th Quarter. This was obviously a game where Payton was missed as a game planner & his in game adjustments as well as his feel for the game as a play caller. Carmichael shite the bed on Monday & Tuesday with his game plan & also today with his inability to adjust to what the 49ers were doing upfront.

Yeah man sorry to say they did outplay us, their D was hittin like it was a SEC vs Sunbelt team.
But going against a complex and Physical D like them is when we miss having payton to make the 2nd half adjustments.
Charmichael wasnt able to do that.

According to the scoreboard...yes. And that's all that really matters.

San Fran is a physical team with a lot of talent and they are focused this year and have confidence. I really think they are overall one of, if not the, beat team in the NFL this year. They definitely have a Clubber Lang vibe.

We are pretty much the opposite. Big plays on offense. Some talent, but mostly overachievers. And as much as I hate to say it, we're kinda soft, especially on defense.

It kind of reminds me of Nebraska vs. Florida in 1996. A speed team vs a pounding team. With the changes in the NFL, we can be that type of team, but the big bad defenses of the league (49ers, Ravens & Steelers) will always be tough to beat. Today just wasn't our day.

Let's just hope we aren't beat up too much for Thursday.

It truly sucks balls we had to play such a physical team before a retardedly short week and a game against Atlanta.

Why the frick does the NFL need Thursday Night Football?
