The 3 backs that are sharing the load right now have had their games.. Betts had a good game or two and has slumped off.. Same with Ivory. I think DCs are picking up on who is running well and zeroing in on them because they know the best back will get the most touches. Ivory couldn't hardly get anywhere last night.. JJ on the other hand looked alright. When Bush and PT get back, Betts will need to find employment elsewhere. Ivory and JJ will probably duke it out for that remaining 3rd spot.

I agree but Ivory is getting the 3rd spot no questions asked imo. Julius is on the tail end of his career and Ivory is in his rookie season and looks to have AP-like speed and power, just doesn't have the vision.. definitely a project worth working on.

Jones is average, his brother is better, but Ivory looked like he got in Payton's doghouse last nite!

7 carries for 16 yards is far from solid. Get ur head out of your arse. The Saints running game is horrible right now. Luckily Brees has a lot of target to throw to... the Saints offense is one dimensional right now. On a good note though... the D played excellent yesterday!

PT would have had just as much trouble as Jones, Ivory, etc., against that defense.

I think Jones is a good fit for this offense, looks quick (definitely fastest of any active RB), has good hands, and can handle multiple roles.

i dont thik people realize that coming into the game, Pitt D was giving up 2.8 YPC

all of our RBs were worthless, and i expected that.

yeah he blows. the 3rd down run out of the shotgun inside the 5 was the worse play call of the year

same here, and so should have the rest of the educated fans. but am I the only one that thinks Julius can give us a few good games and help us win. He's played for Payton before where they had a great relationship and he looks like he's playing like its his last opportunity to be something... unlike Betts IMO.

I think if he's given a bigger role next week against Carolina he'll do great, especially in the pass game.

Happy players equal productive players IMO.

I love Julius' quickness and explosiveness coming off the snap. He hits the line downhill like Mike Bell did a year ago. Quick to the line will see him get past that seam from time to time and he will be in open field with after burners on.
We will only see him improve as he gains game time experience wit this Offense.
I like him when he's in there. His past NFL experience is valuable, too

if I could find the vid of that play, Betts had a hole to cut into the Left Tackle but choose to try and run outside...for -1 yard

i noticed that too. you have to run upfield on that play, thats the whole point

a fat slow RB isnt going to get to the outside on a defense like that

I hated the idea of having Julius Jones in a Saints uniform but he looks to be the best back out of the current healthy bunch. I think he should definitely get a boost in carries on Sunday.
