Duece>>>Bush as a pure running back.

Paytons sticking it to him.
Is Deuce what he used to be? No. Can he still move a pile, make cuts and keep the chains moving? Absolutely.
If he pounds the ball 15-20 times, defense gets tired of hitting him and thats when he goes around him. Just havent given him that shot this year except for a couple of games. Games we won.

No shite.
Id hate to see Deuce go not just because of his play but because of his character.

deuce is still an effective runner, for him to not be getting carries is dumb. i don't know what payton's deal is, if it's because he's a haslett guy but he needs to chill the frick out.

yeah, it really sucks being a top 5 offense in the league the way payton is doing it

We're probably the worst top 5 offense in NFL history. We rack up tons of meaningless yards in garbage time. We never control the clock or the flow of the game. It feels like we're dancing on ice or something.
I hate this style of football. I fricking hated that Chargers game - it was agonizing. I like Nick Saban, Lovie Smith, Bill Parcells, Jeff Fisher style football.
POUND THE ROCK AND MAN UP!

really, why weren't you saying this in 2006?

We controlled the clock in 2006.
Both Eagles game, the Cowboys game, the Falcons games, the Bucs games, the Packers game.
We haven't controlled the clock in ANY game this year save for Kansas City, Oakland, and San Diego. Our other two wins were mostly because time ran out on our opponent's offense when we happened to be ahead. Ditto for our losses v's Washington, Denver, and Minnesota. No control. Just a flip of the coin and a twist of fate. Field goal is good or not? 50/50. First down on 3rd and 1 or not? 50/50.
Meanwhile, the Giants and Steelers grind out wins and run out the clock on their opponents.

In 2006 Duece was loose. We don't have that North/South back this year.

well Payton should have signed or drafted one.
Instead he decided to run his homo offense and get arse raped on every important 3rd and 1 we faced.
I will give him props for the cute little PT as fullback dive that worked 2 times last week. It probably won't work anymore but if he can come up with a gimmick like that more often we'd be 7-3.

Deuce has given the city his heart. He is a first round HOF. This substance about crap is very dumb.

i absolutely love deuce....my top 3 saints of all time...even with my black and gold goggles on there is no way he is a 1st ballot hof'er...more than likely not a hof'er at all....saints hof, definitely.
i think they should use deuce the way the steelers did bettis in his last yr when they won the superbowl...but it seems like sp is convinced that he's not the best option for whatever reason.
i hope this isn't his last season with the saints but it wouldn't suprise me....hope i'm wrong.

I'm not big on hanging all the blame on Payton, but he is the reason Deuce is being purged from the team. He has his players and if you don't fit, gone. Fitting for a "Parcells guy".

Posted on 11/20/08 at 8:09 pm to josh336

i just hope payton doesn't think thomas is better than the deuce right? deuce is better and always be better, and it's not even close. if payton thinks that, he is crazy.
