1. Saints offered 4.5/yr
2. Marks agent said oh well, other teams are offering 7-8, but reality was 5-6. Hope that saints go up to 5-6, so they could push ravens to meeting 7-8.
3. Saints said too much, no dice.
4. Saints sign murray
5. Agent can't get the 7-8mil
6. Mark has to settle and signs for 3/15

fricked up.

no mystery to it at all,

I think maybe some folks misinterpreted my use of "bizarre." Like most, I was pretty well aware of what went on prior to the details coming out.

It's just weird that it went down like that and it's a bummer.

Yeah Mark can get out after 2 years and the 3rd year isnt guaranteed.

Also weird that the agents and the general counsel at his agency are all from Michigan.
Maybe his dad knew them or something

marks agent didn’t counter the Saints offer at all, so the Saints moved quickly on signing Murray.

There had to be something else involved in Ingram's decision to leave.

Take it FWIW, but I heard mid season that his house was already packed and ready to move out.

I'm thinking once a rb is over 30, they'd prefer a contract with more years, not less.

And it's apparent with the numbers being thrown out early his agent thought he could get 7-8 million a year. His agent royally screwed up and he should fire them but it's probably too late because they negotiated the contract already and it's signed so it's done.

Murray has 4 years compared to Mark's 3 though, so if you look at guarantees per year Mark got the better end.
Guaranteed money is all in the first 2 years of both players’ deals. Murray got the better deal with an extra 700k guaranteed within those 2 seasons

The medical consultant on the VIP site is an osteopath. That says a lot.

I bet this is his plan. He is betting on himself the next two years to go HAM. If he does he can skip the 3rd year and get one final contract.

That is a stupid arse plan... RB's tend to fall off a cliff after 30 and that is just a fact. At this point in his career guaranteed money should be more important. His agent fricked him.
