All I get from these game logs is that those regular season ACC and Big 12 schedules are trash. How do you interpret 5 sacks against Kansas and Houston? Wish these players were doing this in the SEC or Big 10. At least we got to see Bain abuse A&M in the playoff, and Bailey looked good against Oregon, but would've liked more games against elite competition.

Do we ding him now?

Bain is a better overall player imo but that doesn’t always translate to the nfl. Bailey fits Staleys 3-4 better and may be develop as a better pass rush specialist. Can’t go wrong with either

No the bust rates are comparable. Depends on where you look and what you consider a bust/hit. The problem with rb, s, and lb is that even when you “hit” on those players in the early first round that doesn’t mean you “hit” on first round value. For DE many times you either get a complete bust or you get an all pro player for multiple contracts or gain some premium trade value.

He's violent, relentless, stout on run defense, a great high character lockerroom guy, i think his style of play hides his physical trait weaknesses well. you can't coach heart and effort.
Tough call as I would give the edge in "effort" to Bailey. Watching Bain, he ran hot and cold. Either has significant bust potential.

As far as Downs, I love him. However, the biggest argument seems to be value. The second contract for a stud safety is nowhere near that of a stud edge. Will be an interesting call if Downs and either Bain or Bailey available,.

i don't care. again, i think arguing bailey or bain is dumb. saints are choosing between both at 8.

What are your thoughts on it now Bud?

I watched both last night a little on the youtubes, did not follow college football this year or look into either guy beforehand.

Main thing that stuck out to my untrained scouting eye after watching both, is Bailey's get off at the snap of ball is insane, one of the best I think I've seen in recent years of looking at potential edges in our 1strd draft pick range. Bain looks productive, probably a better chance of being an average starter, saw more different types of plays from him. But that bailey first step, seems he has much more potential to be an ALL-NFL pass rush talent if he cant put the rest together.

I wouldn't be upset with either, I guess I'd be more hyped about David Bailey.

The questions remained unanswered and we can’t confirm or deny what we see on tape. Exactly the way they want it I presume

I wouldn’t melt but personally I’d pass on both Bain and Bailey at this point. Will be curious is Bailey ducks the 3 cone, shuttle and bench at his pro day.

The more it goes, I think I agree with you. I think in the 1st it should be any of Tate, Lemon, or Delane. I still like Love, but I seriously doubt they pick him after investing what they did in Etienne.

Honestly with this many questions about this many prospects (and they all seem clumped together)……positional value should hold more weight IMO. So those three I named should be good.

The FO did so well in FA that it’s hard to bitch…..but it sure would have been nice to get Chaisson on the deal he got lol

We don't know which, if either, will make it to us, but I'd be fine with either if the team believes in them.

I'm taking either one and I'd have a hard time passing on Caleb downs.

I know safety isn't a premiere position but downs can solve 2 or 3 problems. I'm not taking a wr at 8 this yr.
