Seeing his impact on the game last night made you realize just how much of an impact player he is. If he could stay healthy he could be one of the best players on our defense. With Davenport and Onyametta playing we have the best defense in the NFL. Here’s to hoping he can stay healthy.

Our defense is a lot better when he's playing. It's blatantly obvious to me.

This board doesn’t want to admit it but you’re 100% correct. He’s a terror out there right now. Hopefully turner can come back at a high level and onyemata as well.

Yeah there is plenty of criticism for him not being able to stay healthy but there is no question that he’s an elite d end when he is healthy. It’s going to be interesting to see how contract negotiations go this offseason with him. If he stays healthy the rest of the season I would expect him to have a huge year and be able to ask for a good contract. One year of Hendrickson balling out got him a large contract. That tends to be the trend with pass rushers.

Yes when he is not injured.....he'll probably be on the injury list with a bruised finger and have to sit out 3 weeks.

One tackle and one QB hit last night, hardly elite.

Maybe you should watch a game instead of a box score

Watched every play. Take off your black and gold glasses for a minute.

Looks like no one really has an issue with admitting it. Dude plays well....when he is healthy. Was pushing the hell out the pocket last night.

You clearly didn’t watch the game very closely if you are spewing box score numbers

Guys, its called a TEAM for a reason. No one man can do it all. They each feed off each other. When we had a bench full of good D linemen last few years... they all looked like stars. They all benefitted from the constant swap out of D linemen to keep fresh and keep pressure on the QBs. We lost several to cap space and bigger pay checks. Plus suspensions. Thus , SAINTs QB sacks are down so far this season YET last night with a few of them back in the scheme we started getting those important sacks again. Even Cam J had been shut down because teams could double him and not fear sacks from other players. We are getting back to D line numbers at the right time in the season. It started last night. When David O hits gets back from suspension the sacks will go up again. Old SAINTs team would have collapsed in the mist and rain last night. This team found a way. A balanced dull win but a W no less.

That tells me two things then.
1. You don’t understand football. A DE rarely shows up in stats. The best thing for a DE is to be a disruptor. He doesn’t have to make the play to make plays.
2. You’re the type that just watches the ball.

Lol, he has 13 sacks in 39 career games. No non-Saints fan considers him “elite”.

Sorry that you all can’t be objective in how you look at the Saints players.

The gold and black sunglasses have been talking shite on Davenport for 4 years now. Your point is invalid. And you sir, did not watch the game.

Imagine a CB having 1 tackle all game and that’s his only stat. Does that mean he missed 5 tackles? Maybe. But that stat line would lead me to believe he locked down a receiver and the QB didnt go his way. Stats don’t show everything on defense.

That personal foul against him last night was one of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen in my life.

Wtf are you talking about? Locking down a receiver? Davenport is a defensive end. In four years, he has played in 39 games. Averages one sack every three games. He hasn’t come anywhere close to making a Pro Bowl or All-NFL team. How can you possibly call him “elite”? Back it up with some facts.
