I always thought he was a great option.

No - Allen got anointed before the Payton resignation was even announced and the "search" was a complete fraud and bullshite.

It was always going to be Allen. There was never a question.

This board would have imploded if they hired Pederson.

I don't think we would have imploded if we hired a Super Bowl winning coach ... they don't just grow on trees.

If we showed interest, absolutely, Doug Pederson would be our coach. New Orleans was a better job than Jacksonville.

But as many have stated already, the DA hiring process was a formality.

Said over and over on here and will get more downvotes but Harbaugh should have been the hire. He wanted bavk in the pros.

3 championship games and one super bowl appearance.

But we hire a coach who will have his 4th losing record in 4 years. Come eat your crow Allen lovers that gave me shite….

IIRC, we did interview Pederson.

Ehh. Jacksonville is a much nicer place to live right now with no state income tax. They have a ton of young studs on the defense on rookie contracts. They also have a 22 year old qb that is likely a franchise qb that has responded really well to his coaching already.

We’re fading and they’re on the rise.

Allen was Benson and Loomis cheapest option. Allen came with a built in continuity excuse, and be damned his disastrous HC'ing stent in Oakland.
