I think this could affect us in 2 ways...

1. Sean was interested in coaching brady at Miami, so maybe they meet up in LV

2. Maybe we can swoop in on Carr.

If that's the angle they are going for, it would probably have to be a Carr for Payton straight up to make it work. However, Carr's cap figures would make it very difficult. He has base salary's of $30M+ in 2023 and $40M+ in 2024 & 2025. Loomis could make it work, but we'd be continuing the kicking the can down the road approach that is affecting this team's depth. The depth at key positions is a major reason why the team cannot overcome injuries like many of the other teams.

Also, would Brady want to go into a division where he has to fight against Mahomes & Herbert twice a season?

Better off keeping Dalton at a lower salary and getting picks

I read that the Raiders don't have the money to fire McDaniels.

Carr is an average QB, but I’d rather just keep AD and tank for a pick next season

Payton is Chargers or Bust. Brady will head back to San Fran for one final season and give Purdy and Lance a master class.
Niners are basically one elite QB away from a super bowl ring.

He already said he is playing.

The only retirement for him will be when team get sick of paying a 50 year old QB.

He may be saying this ,but the man is finished. You can see it and age has caught up to him. It's over.

Can you get cash as well to help with a cap hit in the nfl?

It’s just that the state this franchise is in right now, unless they can miraculously get like a Lamar or something, what’s the point of bringing someone like Carr to this roster and paying his average arse when this team needs to rebuild?

Are we sure he's broke? All I could find in the press is that he had an equity stake in FTX... but did he pay for it? Or did he get the equity stake in exchange for his public sponsorship of FTX? And if he did pay for it, how much did he pay? Surely not his entire 650M fortune.

I liked Carr, said we should have targeted him last off-season if the Raiders got Rogers. But I agree, he’s not that much better than Dalton from what I’ve seen this year. And no where near the value.

Have seen deals involving cash, but that has no impact on the cap space; just helps finances

If they really wanted to make the move, they could work the deal for the Raiders to restructure his salary into a bonus. Then when they trade him, the Raiders eat the bonus and cap hit. That would ultimately force us to pay more; similar to why the Saints gave up a higher pick in the Roby trade
