We will not sniff the playoffs this year and hopefully this train wreck will be over. If he's allowed to stay longer he will continue to sink us deeper and deeper. We have a top 5 QB and we are the only franchise with one that isn't even a player in the title race for one reason Sean Payton.

I dont know if we will sniff the playoffs are not. Im not ready to say we wont. I do agree with your second statement though. But, Payton has got rid of every DC since he has been here after losing seasons. He kept his buddies on for waay too long. Its obvious he is feeling at least some heat to retool the whole coaching staff.

Everyone can scream DE all they want, but if this team makes the playoffs or has a 9-7 season, it will shut some mouths up for the time being. We arent a DE away from being a SB team, I promise you.

In 2009 we had Charles Grant and Will Smith. Grant was never a beast DE in the Payton era. From 2006-2009 he averaged 4 sacks. We had a solid MLB and a solid secondary.

Thats exactly what they are trying to go back to. They have plenty of pieces to try to make this work. Im optimistic for the first time in 4 years.

Saints also had a very high grade on Josh Dobbs. "We really liked the kid from Tennessee and had a great visit with him."

Probably means they would have taken Mahomes at 11 regardless of who was there

Thank God for Andy Reid

Payton would of never made it to the end of the draft if he drafted Mahomes. fawkin stupid.........

Apparently they missed on both Mahomes AND Foster. Fate trying to save Sean Payton from himself, against his will.

Sometimes the gods smile on you.

I tried telling yall all before the draft that the pick at 11 was Mahomes. Funny story, the only reason we Didn't get Mahomes wss because of Sean Payton inviting those two golfers into the war room.

Did they somehow leak that the Saints pick was Mahomes allowing KC to find out?

Doubt it, KC knew Saints were high on him, if Saints didn't want to move and Browns sitting there at 12.... KC probably knew where they had to jump to in order to secure him.

Yea but not on purpose. They were talking about it on the course during practice and a reporter picked up on it and it took off from there. Hence the reason why the chiefs knew they had to move ahead of us.

Kind of crazy but extremely frustrating for our coaching staff who thought he would be there for us.

I seriously doubt that. Mahomes has been groomed to be a professional athlete his entire life. The only knock on him was him coming out of that system at Texas Tech. His physical tools & intangibles were off the charts which is why he shot up so high. He is by far the most talented QB Andy Reid will have had under him as a head coach. Mahomes can sit back & learn the concepts of how to operate a pro style offense behind Alex Smith. In 2-3 years, if Mahomes catches on like he should, KC will go from playoff contender to Super Bowl contender because their defense is set to be good for a long time. They just drafted more studs on that side of the ball. They just need WRs now so that Mahomes will have playmakers to throw to when he is ready to take over but Andy Reid drafting WRs is like Payton with pass rushers.

We could have easily gone into the 2nd round without any defensive pick if KC had not taken Mahomes with the 49ers taking Foster and then begins imo a downward slide in talent at CB. and at pass rushers by the time we are up for the 42nd pick. Certainly could have been another poor defensive draft for us.

22/32 teams' projected starters or qbs will take over midseason taken in the top 36 picks. LOL

ETA: 4 QBs worth a shite taken after that point starting in the league

Wilson: AMAZING
Cousins: Middle of the Pack
Dalton: Middle of the Pack
Dak: One year so far so jury is still out

The likelihood of us getting one after that isn't high at all. Mahomes has an absolutely ridiculous ceiling and just went to one of the best QB Gurus ever. I'm sure he would've done great here as well. Father was a pro athlete and the only knocks on him are things that are fixable. Go check out Rodgers' mechanics at Cal and they were just as horrific. The intangibles and arm talent are certainly worth the selection. No other QB in this draft can touch that ceiling.

Was just telling a buddy of mine that Mahomes will likely be the one to put Reid over the top finally. Lines up perfectly with declining of Brady as well.

Bump.

Ran across this thread while going back through my post history. Thought it was an interesting thread being that Payton has stepped down while Mahomes is about to play in his 4th straight AFC Championship Game & possibly his 3rd straight Super Bowl.

I ran across so many threads during my search concerning pre-draft threads that were filled with some God awful takes.

This one result is why Payton is retiring. No way he retires if Mahomes were a Saint.

I hope Payton never talks to thise two golfers ever again.

Also Jake88 may have an alltime bad take there with Mahomes.
