I was reading where both Governor Edwards and Mayor Cantrelle have to sign off on the Saint's plan to allow 25% capacity in the Superdome. The Governor agreed. The Mayor did not. Hence no fans will be present Monday night.

My question is this: Why can one person who is not a state official tell the State of Louisiana what can or cannot take place in a state owned facility situated in the State of Louisiana? Can the Governor control this, or does he just not want to press the issue.

I know the storm complicates matters, but this probably would have happened anyway.

It’s ridiculous that JBE is sitting back allowing her to ruin the economy/livelihood of New Orleans even further. No other male governor of LA would have put up with that.

The governor of Florida is allowing 100% capacity at full stadiums for their phase 3. I can’t stand JBE or Destroya and the destruction they’re doing to people’s lives.

Does the governer have specific authority to override Cantrelle here? I think I heard that it doesn't matter if it's a state building, since it's in her jurisdiction, she has a say in it as well.

Don't get me wrong, I disagree with and despise her. I think she's the worst mayor New Orleans has ever had (and that's saying something). Just saying that since it's in her jurisdiction, I can see why she would have to have a final say.

Same idea of states having power that the Federal government doesn't. If the government with the larger reach always had absolute power over the more localized government, then that would present its own set of problems

Do state offices in New Orleans have to abide by local mandates? Honest question, I assume they do.

Destroya looking for a green back poultice from the Saints, preferably in some offshore account or paper bags of cash.

Edwards can't tell her anything because he is white and Destroya is black. Not only black, but black female. The whole intersectionality bullshite that gives her an in to claim any move he makes that overrides her be rayciss n sheet.

They play for the same team. You get what u vote for. Saints should move their games out of her city and blame her directly if they wanna see who has the biggest d!ck

Honest Answer and I think that it comes down to this.

The State owns the facility, but unless the mayor signed on to the plan then the infrastructure that is necessary to host even 25% fans would not be in place.

There has to be certain number police and EMT workers and other personnel available to work the game. Probably more with Covid.

Oh my if only some people in any other Parish wanted to earn a few hundred bucks instead of Orleans Parish. The Saints can host 25%. Gayle Benson needs to learn the frick you button.

I mean who would have thought that someone that can’t keep her own house in order (paying taxes like a normal citizen) could run a city?

New Orleans residents are idiots for putting that bitch in office.

The last Governor's election has nothing to do with this. Even if JBE decided to open up the whole state 100% the Mayor can choose not to comply, as she is doing, and keep the city closed as she sees fit. Even little phony Rispone couldn't change this situation.

That the Governor has advised that he is on board with opening up the dome to fans shows you the spite of the Destoya.

What logic is there behind refusing fans other than just a power trip? She is garbage.

MS & FL are about to pass 2 weeks of being fully open and there has not been a spike in cases.

"Elections have consequences"

As a longtime resident of New Orleans, I am not sure if this is nearly as true for many local elections. At least for me, voting in Orleans just involves deciding which flavor of progressive Democrat you find slightly more appealing (or, in most cases, less objectionable).

Got an e-mail this morning from the Saints stating that they are working with the Mayor's office and expect to have fans in the stands for the next home game against Carolina. I don't know what they mean by "working" with the mayor's office. Mrs. Benson is too honest to grease the necessary palms, which is probably the cause of the hold up in the first place.
