Haven't gone threw 6 pages yet, but really Gulf coast Saints would be fitting kind of like the New England (Boston) Patriots. It will always be Our team (New Orleans), It's also our team the (the gulf coast region). There are a lot of diehards from Lafayette to Pensacola..............

Again that doesn't have the same ring. Gulf Coast Saints.. Na.. Louisiana Saints.. Na.. New Orleans Saints.. That sounds better.

NO is the focal point, prop it up. We want to be in that number that includes NYC, Chicago, New Orleans.

Seriously, do we want to be like the Minnesota Vikings or the Arizona Cardinals?

I mean they haven't thought about the Seahawks, Packers, or Falcons name change yet.

When I was in for the Tampa game this year, lots of MS and AL plates in town, too. Their way to contribute, I guess.

This will never happen. The Saints belong to New Orleans. Most northern LA residents are Cowboys fans so this is a terrible idea. Thread = EPIC FAIL

Yeah I also failed to mention...

I HAVE NOT MISSED A SAINTS HOME GAME SINCE 1997.

Real fans know that before you bandwagon chimps jumped on ot was easy and cheap to buy tix in front of the Hyatt.
Just because I didn't have season tix yet doesn't mean I'm less of a fan, plus I lost my house in Katrina and lost my job and still made every game.
Excusses are for bitches.
Truth is you people didn't care at that time.
In 2005 I got season tix but I am a real fan in the dome section 613.

Don't ever ever compare me to a bandwagon fan you East Texas m'fer.

Have you ever been to the dome??

I grew up in BR, graduating high school in the late 80s. Most everyone I knew were at the very least casual Saints fans.

Of course, there were always a few goofballs who would profess the Cowboys or even someone like the Steelers as their "#1 team", but they were more often than not roundly criticized for such foolishness, especially when they'd vow to be pulling against the Saints.

ETA, the idea of the OP is retarded, though. Didn't want to leave any impression that I might think otherwise.

How about just "Saints". We know who we are. Sure everybody will associate N.O. with it, but cut it to just the Saints.
Kinda of like people with just one name. Sting, Usher, Madonna, etc.
It doesn't matter where you are, your the Saints.
Who Dat.

And Saints fans complain about not getting any love from the outside.

Truth is, you don't want it.

Anybody who's going to cite that situation as being indicative of anything is fricking retarded.

I actually bought the whole package of tickets for that fiasco. There was something so bizarrely depressing about the whole scene that I think I only went to one game (I might have gone to two, but that whole time period is so freaking hazy, I'm not exactly sure).
