Nobody is happy, but best result with shitty cards.

Carr can be better with the help he will get on the sideline.

Yep…too many old Saints on the payroll in the final years of their playing careers that get hurt easily and are dead money for the rest of the season.

exactly what this is. jordan, hill, shepherd, wilson and could be several more.

Which we all know means 27 and 28 restructuring for Carr.

Our grandchildren will one day ask us..." Who is this Carr and why are we paying for a 65 year old qb?"

Had to do something, but Loomis doing his Loomising is why they had to do something.
Optimistic part is OTC says the team is only $8.5M away from cap compliance for 2025 and still has $56M in cap space for 2026. Cutting Carr after this season saves $9.5M on the 2026 cap ($59.7M dead). So as long as he doesn’t go completely full Loomis in FA, they could afford to cut Carr and take the hit in 2026.

Just realized someone needs to fark Loomis on the RDJ meme from tropic thunder and change it to “Never go full Loomis”

i think next year is the year to eat carrs contract. will still owe him big in 27(void year), but this is the band-aid that needs to be pulled off. if he has a full season this year and matches his play from last year he's prolly worth keeping anyway.

his pff passing grade was 7th, overall 11th(including rushing).

passer rating 10th and qbr 14th.

yeah i get it. he makes mistakes and isn't flashy with broken plays, but he's a decent, top-half of the league qb. he;s been more than what his cap hit has been worth the last two years and will be this year. we just have to finally pay for it next year.

need to go ahead and cut bait with several players post june 1st. can easily be cap compliant with extensions/restructures to werner and ruiz. hopefully after this offseason we can finally stop kicking the can down the road and stop acting like "this is the year". i get it when we had brees, but it hasn't made a lot of sense after he retired.

Everyone knows there is no way that $69M hit next year is going to stick.

We only have 40 players under contract in ‘26 and are paying $10M plus for Jordan, Hill, Ram, Kamara.

I bet we really didn’t have a choice but it’s time you start realizing it could be 2030 before we dig out of this. You have to keep kicking the can, but hopefully at a slower pace to dig out.

So basically, Loomis just threw another 4 to 5 f*cking years down to drain. As long as this ignorant, scumbag motherf*cker is around we’re never going to get out of salary cap hell and will never put together a decent team.

This guy has to be the most pathetic f*cking general manager to ever work in sports. He makes John Mecom, Jr. look like a f*cking sports genius.

That would be a positive.

3 years minimum of Carr being on the books as a major cap hit now. Fricking stupid.

Man, that is the most frustrating thing right now.

The standard within this organization has fallen so hard from what it once was. When I heard Carr say that, even after beating the Falcons, it fricking pissed me off.

He's literally the only player who ever said anything remotely like that when referring to Dennis Allen as the head coach.

The coaching change was made and now...maybe... things will change but it definitely take time. It is what it is.

Carr seems like a good guy but just comes off as wishy washy and just not the kind of leader you need at QB.

He's been hurt both seasons he's been here and he's due a large amount of money.

He'll have his moments, but they are usually in games that aren't all that meaningful. I don't care what his stats say. If his stats are so good, then the Saints should have been better on offense.

By converting most of Carr's base salary into a signing bonus, the restructure can go a long way toward helping the Saints become cap compliant in time for the start of the NFL’s new league year starting Wednesday.

More Loomis shite.

He may be the most uninspiring supposed top 10 (per many on this board) qb in NFL history.

There are a lot of bad teams in the NFL right now and we are one of them.

We nearly finished last in what many consider the worst division in football.

Mayfield has more swag than Carr.

Pennix and Young are both young QB's with room for development.

none of the defenses within this division particularly scare anyone.

I can accept that Carr is the best option for 2026 but just hate his mental toughness. That fricking guy lost me for with that "DA built this" line.

nope.

fricker is never getting that one back.

Quick question.

I get the hate for Carr. He is a mid tier QB that is a low tier QB when he doesn't have support of a good running game and OL.

BUT.

what BETTER QB's are out there that are less than 30mill per year?

Seems like he is a crappy choice, but cheaper than the other crappy choices.

Are we keeping him bc better qb's just cost more and we are taking our "medicine" due to kicking the can down the road for so many years?
