We went from the best of all time to a mid tier guy in Carr.

It’s frustrating but until we can draft for the future, this is what we will have

Luckily we didn’t over spend for Carr.

Well I thought a mid tier would be fine with our offensive talent but he’s not playing like a mid tier QB. I “defended” him the first month or so but he has not improved at all. I’m not saying he can’t but I don’t see it happening this year.

He’s a washed mid tier QB. Which means he’s now booty cheeks

Well, he is the 15th highest paid QB in the league, so I guess you're right they are paying him exactly what he's worth

We couldve just paid andy dalton 5 mil per year and got the same, id not slightly better results.

I am not disputing that they could have found an equivalent QB for less; just pointing out that outside of the guarantees his contract actually is in line with where he ranks amongst QBs.

Crazier part is if you don't factor in rookie contract, he would be the 14th (mistakenly said 15) highest paid QB out of 20 starting QBs not on rookie deals. So while they could have gotten Dalton at $5M to limp around, they need to focus on being one of those 12 teams with a rookie contract.

I would have argued with you on this point a month ago.

Today, I say carry on.

The real problem to me isnt the money as much as it is that it makes me think they wont realize the sunken cost and will continue to be stubborn and build assets around it instead of taking the opportunity of this deep qb class to take a chance

My fear as well. This is supposed to be one of the deepest QB drafts in years, and the way the team is playing they will be in prime position to get one of the better QBs. If they keep DA, they will continue to add pieces and address the o-line and miss a golden opportunity.

If DA is not here, new coach will 100% get a new QB.

Scheme can hide deficiencies, when you have the worst scheme (Thanks Pete and DA!) in the league, it’s gonna make a middle of the road qb look like one of the worst in the league. Our offense is so vanilla and outdated. I mean look at what the Shanahans and McDaniels of the world do on offense compared to us. It’s not even close! I guarantee if you put Tua or Purdy in our system they would have similar stats to Carr. Great coaching is the number 1 most important thing in this league. My candidate for HC is the Houston OC. He is a shanny disciple and looks to be the part.

He absolutely is. He’s average, sometimes good and sometimes bad. Never great.

That’s what $150 mil gets you these days.

I have never seen a QB squander so many opportunities in the redzone while they have very few issues getting to the redzone. At this point you have to use Hill or you will be kicking a FG. It's pathetic.
