Gives me more of a reason to want to do everything we can to get him.... although he would be going to same situation, good offense shitty defense...

Carolina - Watson Trade

Edit: Carolina would be the same situation as Houston, why would I think we had a shitty defense when it was top 5 this year.

You think we have a shitty defense, or do you mean Carolina?

We have players, we can offer volume of picks... not having a guaranteed top 10 pick in a draft will hurt us from being taken overly seriously.

Watson is an awesome player but the amount of draft picks Carolina would have to give up to outbid a team like Miami could be detrimental to them.

That being said, everything in the NFL is about having a QB. Do what you have to do to get one, figure the rest out later. And Rhule is a good coach IMO.

I hope he goes to Miami.

Watson and CMC together is scary to imagine. Add in C. Samual as well.

That being said, I agree that they wouldn’t be able to protect them or build their defense with the money and draft picks they’d have to use to get Watson.

J..E..T..S

Watson wants to be the sports darling of NYC. Also has close friends on the Brooklyn NBA roster.

Jets have loads of draft picks to divy up

2 things will happen if they trade for Watson.

1) They will absolutely cripple the long term future of their franchise. The will be bad bad at some point in time.

2) they will be immediately better and everyone will hoot and holler about how they are so much smarter than everyone. Not even referencing the bill that will have to be paid.

The trade proposals I've saw for Watson are weird to me. Maybe it's bc I'm a much bigger mlb fan, and the idea behind their trades is surplus value. I see Houston wanting a ton of very valuable picks that would have a lot of surplus value in order to get Watson who you'll have to pay good money to, which obviously takes away some of his surplus value.

I wonder how long it takes nfl GMs to figure out what mlb GMs have.

Any team in the NFL looking to upgrade at QB is going to be very aggressive in trying to land Watson.

the aftermath of certain guys makes things interesting.

What comes of Jimmy G.
What comes of Taysom.
What comes of Tua.
What comes of Matty Ryan.
What comes of Teddy B.
What comes of Sam Darnold.

The report I’m seeing is from Armando Salguero. I have no idea if he’s a reliable reporter. So, could be accurate.

Could be the greatest movement of QB's in nfl history this year.

Wonder what the record is?

No idea how reliable the report is, but another rumor was Saleh was one of the coaches on the list Watson wanted to see Houston interview.

For those that think Watson is stepping out of his lane: Houston asked Watson for his opinion, said he'd be part of the process, and did not interview any one on Watson's list, then hired people without discussing with Watson. The expectation was set by the Front Office/Owner.

Imo Carolina is one of the least likely players to land Watson. The Texans will want a boatload of picks and a pro bow caliber player and maybe even another one. Unless Carolina is giving up McCaffrey and 4 firsts then they aren’t getting him. To be honest that 8th pick might as well be the 28th pick. That’s a high pick but probably not high enough to land a future qb and this years qb class is pretty weak.
