Gee, Carl... way to sound like you're going to bust some tail for your team.

Post Practice Q&A with Payton
quote:

Can you talk about Carl Nicks and Jermon Bushrod working with the second team? “We’re having to give a lot of guys a lot of reps. They took some snaps with the ones. We moved Charles (Brown) up some. We’ll keep rotating them. It’s nothing to read into.”

Looks like we have two distinctly different views of how the situations went down.

Starting to worry about our OL. I know Nicks had issues at Neb. Anybody know what his issues were?

Our OL will be great. We're returning arguably the best group in the NFL last season (the best according to that Madden award), and you can't underestimate the improvement typical of a revamped OL (new LT and C) having a year of experience together. Nicks would have to rape or murder someone to be taken out of the starting lineup.

In reading the afternoon practice reports from Times Picayune's Jeff Duncan, he was back full time with the 1's in the 2nd practice today.

I think Nocks problem at N. revolved around a party at his house where some underage kids were drinking

Somebody correct the story if I am wrong

Not that big of a deal if that is true

I don't really want to get into how they let me know. I'd rather keep it in. You'll have to ask (Coach Sean) Payton or (offensive line coach Aaron) Kromer about that.

The fact that he calls Coach Payton "Payton" shows how much respect he has.

I noticed that too.

Hey, this is a 1st round talent who fell to the 5th round. Something about him turned scouts off. Maybe we're getting a glimpse of it now.

This was his deal at Nebraska, it's why he fell

I don't take put much stock into what he says though. He says it doesn't piss him off, motivate him, or whatever. Let's see how he practices today and plays against the texans, if he's dragging arse still, then there may be a problem, but I doubt it.
