Can Taysom Hill come in and pass consistently this year? Supplement Brees?

If we put Hill in and let him do more than run the wildcat, but throw the ball as well in situations, how would that open the offense further? Help Drew? He has a rocket for an arm. How much of the offense could we give him to run before it affected the rhythm with Drew and the rest of the offense?

I just think that if Hill can come in as a change of pace and also throw the ball, it could keep defenses on their heels even more. Sean doesn’t always do the best with making things blend though. How could this work to our advantage?

We have arguably the best QB to ever play the game. Can we take him out more?

Taysom should be our number 2 QB with Teddy getting cut or traded.

Hill would only constrict the passing game not expand it.
He stares down receivers too much and often is wild with his throws.

I think what he does now is what he does best.

Hill already brings more to the table than Teddy Fishwater will ever bring. If he deserves a $5,000,0000 contract, Hill deserves $10,000,000 .I can tell you the only "sick" at my house was the Saints' fans while Fishwater was playing.

You couldn't run him or let him play ST if you do this

Every time he threw last year it was a disaster. He was a sub 60% completion guy in college. I don’t think people realize how bad that is. Please do not allow one preseason game against scrubs make you think otherwise

Taysom 44yd pass to CantGuardMike

I do think that if Taysom is in to run the RPO, actually doing the Pass part every now and then will make the package more dangerous and difficult to defend.

This board, I swear. They completely forgot that Teddy looked good the previous week and take a game where he's sick and want him tarred and feathered and sent out of town on a flaming wagon.

Again, everyone loves the backup. Every. Single. Time.

So you use a play where he threw the ball way behind the WR as an example of how great he is in the passing game. MT had the defense beat, if he puts that ball inside the 5 it's a walk-in TD.

He completed 3 of 7 passes last season for 64 yards and 1 INT. I agree that he needs to pass more to be effective, but he has not shown any consistency in the passing game when the defense "knows" he's running the ball.

That was a terrible pass

Thomas had single coverage beat and it was an easy TD. Collingsworth even said "got em!" before Hill underthrew him terribly

I feel like he will continue to be a wildcard.
Teddy will be the #2 from a pure QB standpoint.
But yeah I trust Hill more anyday to come in and run the offense. I’d rather suck with a Steve Young type after Brees than suck with Aaron Brooks 2.0.
Hill is just exciting.
