On our last series
And when we were goal to go in the first half

Sean knew what was about to happen

Sean hasn't been wearing his mask...caught the virus again.

Coach explained it directly after the game. Youtube it

Yeah. He said he felt like we needed to score a TD because I’d didn’t matter how much time we gave Brady, he would have been able to get them close enough for a go ahead FG.
Basically, “you play to win the game!”

I can't believe people can't figure this out for themselves.
They had two timeouts. So brady still has 1:20-1:40 to score a field goal and they win

Drew Brees was not the QB

Your math is off.
Brady would have had 1:20 minus the time it took for two plays to occur and Tampa to make the timeout and the time to kick the FG.
So, probably less than 1:10.

I disagree. Nothing sad or BS about it as he made a clear choice everyone could see. It worked out

Certainly better than 1:44 left with two time outs.

It worked out because of our defense
I was at the game and most of the fans were booing the play calling

Is it possible for the best player in the league
Alvin Kamara
In case you didn’t know
To score a TD running the ball?
Posted on 10/31/21 at 9:54 pm to Rohan Gravy
I don’t understand doing anything but running on first down instead of relying on Siemian.
Posted on 10/31/21 at 9:56 pm to saderade
Cause maybe you guess that is what they expect you to do?

So I liked it - but not for the reasons SP gave.
I figured if he left MORE time on the clock, and TB drove down for a FG, there would be enough time to use our 3 timeouts and get the ball back with some time left. It's a desperate play, sure, but anything over a minute for Brady (and a lot of QBs) is a lifetime to get ~35 yards.

Payton's point was that it was a distinction with no difference. We were either going to stop Brady or we weren't. The time wasn't going to be a factor.
