Yes, it stings a little but it's the right call. Its time to let the young bucks get their chance. I really hope they trade Kamara as well.

I wouldn’t mind that at all but he wouldn’t get much at all. Maybe a 6th.

How the frick do you know that? The Patriots went 4-13 with a promising rookie quarterback and made it to the Super Bowl in his year 2. Shough showed enough to think he might be the real deal.

1. AFC was weak last year.
2. Pats replaced a bottom five coach with a top five coach
3. Pats had a historically easy schedule
4. Pats played a backup QB who had not played all year in the championship game
5. Pats had elite players come back that missed almost all of the season before

That is a lot to hope for.

If you lose Jordan and Davis the ceiling shrinks even more. The defense as it stands would be terrible without those two.

Cam’s 2025 stats are deceiving. We are going to be drafting or signing an edge no matter if he stays.

Davis stings more if he leaves

We don’t need to be the Patriots. Win 9-11 games and compete for the playoffs. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Maybe if a team gave DD a 2 year deal.
Cam plays here or retires.

They also spent over 360 million in free agency last year improving the team. You think we doing that? We right at the cap now

It's a question of commitment/salary/age.

Do the Saints want them back? Yes

Would the Saints find a way to keep them if they were younger? Probably

Do the Saints want to give two players that will be 37 years old market rates for two to three years? NO

It sucks but that's life. Players age and sometimes they want more than a team is willing or able to pay.

I mean he played up to what he had been the years before. But he was a really good two way end that played like 60% of the snaps. Replacing him is what it is, but fans need to temper expectations. Those two guys carried the defense this past year.

Chase Young was more impactful than both

I guess, for a guy that only played in 70% of the games

Exactly. Doubt we get gets once in two generation historically easy schedule like they did and maybe the easiest bunch of offenses to face in modern playoff history.

Its time build a new foundation with younger players. They deserve to be on teams that have chance to win Super Bowl

Maybe we’re finally gonna lean into the rebuild. I like it.

Demario was never coming back and it is what it is. Can’t overall pay for a 37 middle linebacker. When Cam realizes there’s no more money out there for him than what Mickey is offering, he’ll be back on a 1 year deal. I just can’t see anyone throwing him stupid money.

That’s a deflection. Defense improved with him, end of story.
