Brees took one look at the Saints receivers and said “I’m back!”

Can only be a net positive if he does decide to return, still own his rights. Could always pawn him, or just play him.

If he starts conditioning now, I’d take him over Winston in the fall - easily.

Can he throw the ball more than 15-20 yards downfield?

You are delusional. He cannot throw over 15 yds. Thankfully, this ship has sailed and Payton is no longer here to make it happen.

He couldn't do that 5 years ago

I cannot muster another season of 5-10 yard curl and slant routes.

Watching that last drive against TB in the playoff loss was debilitating with how much that arm regressed.

I don't want to see Brees come back and look like the QB version of what Witten was in Las Vegas, basically 2 yd routes then fall over.

With a year of rest and limited games I think he can be the Brees of 7 years ago. He can take over in week 12 and lead the Saints to the Super Bowl!

Well, he could only throw slants and we have the two best slant receivers in football now

I mean, how is Drew Brees being out of football, any different than Michael Thomas being out a large portion of the 2020 season, and all of last season? Brees could have just been hurt this entire time, and needed some time off.

I played quarterback in high school and I can throw a football further and harder now than I could back then and I’m in my late 30’s. I’m also stronger now but I’ve also never had shoulder issues knock on wood. He probably had surgery and stem cell treatment along with a year to rest.
