Rumors got the Keenan Lewis right.
the Keenan Lewis thing came out the next day too. it's getting awful late for a way bigger name to not have any concrete news.

I don't think he got surgery, I'm saying it's a necessity post surgery. I'm saying to prevent a full tear while it heals (because a partial doesn't require surgery, it heals on its own) a sling is a great preventative measure so that you don't further injure it doing a variety of mundane activities, I'm just going out on a limb that if I had this concern about a guy I've invested so much money in, he's in a sling until I get all the answers and/or a decision is made.
Do I need to explain the fricking function of what a sling does? You realize throwing a football isn't the only thing drew Brees does with his right arm?

It's pretty crazy how Brees has maintained his health while in New Orleans
Especially w/ the team's almost cavalier attitude towards obtaining/retaining good offensive linemen. You'd think they would want to invest a good line to protect their expensive franchise QB.

Nope. His shoulder moved forward while his arm moved backward.
The lack of arm strength & the inaccuracy he had after that made it look even worse. On that final throw from about 35 yards out, he had to loft the ball high just to get it to reach the endzone. His arm looked completely shot at that point.

Can really tell on the resolution of the gif. From the pic depends on which way his arm was "forced" if it was brought into further external rotation (increased throwing motion) could be a tear of his subscapularis (front part of rc) or another labrum injury... Particularly given his history.

Cb spiller was spotted with a cast and crutches. They didn't see him walking around the mall looking stiff

You realize why he would have his arm in a sling immediately right? What don't you get about that? Partial or not, you immobilize the arm when you have a significant investment.
Don't care to add anything to the rumors but just relaying my experience. When I partially tore my rotator cuff playing football in HS I didn't realize it at first and had 99% of the movement in my shoulder. I could still throw a football, really do almost anything. But... if I raised my hand straight up in the air it was like someone shot me with a 30-06 in that shoulder. In fact with the exception of a little soreness for a couple of days after the hit I didn't notice it for 3 days. Found out the hard way raising my hand in class to answer a question and ended up on the floor with black dots swimming in my vision from the pain.

I partially tore my rotator cuff in 2013 in my left shoulder while bench pressing. I powerlift and still lifted pretty heavy at competition. I was never 100% though, more like 65%. Different movement tho from a throwing motion. It didn't heal up until about February this year, but that's with no surgery and not really resting it. I'm around Drew's age too. If it is partially torn, he needs to get it fixed asap. No need having him at 65% or lower.

Scott Alexander on ESPN radio has all but said he does in fact have a torn rotator cuff.

stop posting this like fricking Barry Hirstius is going to break big news.
Look guys Barry is a good friend of mine and he is very connected. He is just as likely to have breaking Saints news as anyone else.

He's playing both sides of the fence

My sources are saying surgery Wednesday.

I'm sure. No one is saying it's impossible. No two people are the same, no two sets of circumstances are identical.
What you describe is pretty much what I'm talking about. If you elevate the arm, it's fricking painful. People do things instinctively, out of memory or out of necessity. There are any number of scenarios and likely outcomes
I'm considering a few things
1. This is a board rumor. Doesn't mean it is not true, only that it's likely untrue or a distortion of the truth
2. That Most rotator tears end up with the QB walking off the field. Roethlisberger played with a tear, but he left that game and he was holding the arm like it was dead
3. Common sense, if it was torn, likely it would be painful enough to need support, or at a minimum be in a sling to prevent any further tearing (if partial)
Either way, I believe the closest this thread comes to being accurate is that he has shoulder stiffness or soreness, maybe a sprained joint. Odds are he's not out for the season. And I hate fricking talking about this. He's on all 3 of my fantasy teams and the saints suck enough as it is...on the plus side, if true, we'll see what we have in Grayson maybe and we'll be getting the #1 overall pick
