His body also doesn’t heal as quick as it used to you nut.

Turned my entire web of my palm black and blue for weeks. Was incredibly painful.

I know. I’ve done the same repeatedly before I was completely healed and now even 20 years later I’m still really ginger when it comes to my thumbs and palms.

It’s an injury that never completely heals.

I tore a ligament in my pointer catching a cabbage at the St Patty's day parade a few years ago and it still hurts every day

From Chris Landry-

quote:

Saints staff fears torn ligament in Brees thumb..if surgery needed, could sideline until November...They should know more later tonight/tomorrow...They’re holding out hope it could be less severe but they’re not optimistic.

Nothing groundbreaking, but still

He's done. He has been sitting on the fence (in regards to retiring) as a healthy Drew Brees. Having to sit out months if not the entire season? That's all she wrote for him.

CONFIRMED as @Stephania_ESPN suggested. @Saints QB @DrewBrees is seeing Dr. Steve Shin, one of the renown hand specialists in country based in L.A. We’ll know more tomorrow.

Don't give yourself false hope. Best case scenario has Brees out for at least six games.

According to these sentences the tendons in your typing finger(s) are still torn.

This is the dumbest tweet ever

You put a thumb in a thumb spica for anything from a scaphoid fracture to stressed joint.

If you have any damage to your thumb you aren't going to just have a patient, let alone the NFL's greatest QB walk around with it flopping around freely.

You're going to splint it like that for any number of reasons and trying to conjecture about his injury just looking at a splint like that is a waste of everyone's time.
