It would have been nice to have some young talent there and not a bunch of special team guys

Les, in their defense (guys like Dunbar, Casilias, etc), they are only "special teams guys" because we had incumbent starters in front of them.

I don't think anyone would argue that Fujita was more athletic than JC or Dunbar...it's all about paying your dues.

Obviously, the staff likes one of those outisde linebackers - if not all 3. I do too, not that it means anything, but I think one of them will be able to step in and do a good job this year.

I lost track of this thread. . .

But if whodatfan disagrees with you, you are pretty much assured to be correct.

what the frick did robinson do at florida state? what kind of consistent results did he have?

He put together these kind of results that combined with his 4.38 pro day got him drafted in the first round by the Super Bowl champions:

Thats' what the frick he did. Need more help?

It's one thing to wish we had a pass-rusher in the first pick. But it's another thing not knowing what the frick you are talking about.

did you really just produce highlight videos to show his (consistent) production at FSU?

*ETA: did you even watch the videos? one of them is titled "CB Patrick Robinson Highlights/Lowlights 2009 FSU vs UM/UNC"

Dunbar ran like a 5.0 40, i dont think he can play the outside, it would have to be the middle

Cassillas is intriguing but i dont remember hearing his name called when he played last year.

Vilma- starter
Shanle- starter

Cassilas- fringe starter/SP'er. Light in the arse, but definitely athletic

Dunbar- SP
Evans- SP
Waters- SP
Marvin Mitchell- SP

one youtube video has him getting burned a few times and giving up a good # of passes over the middle

the other are his highlights against the juggernaut known as maryland

ok. Which LB should we have taken in the 2nd?

they traded up for a C so clearly they dont think LB is a need.

That's a leap. I'd say there is a better chance that they just don't think they could have filled the hole from the draft with the guys available...and will instead try to fill the gap in free agency or from within.

i read up on him

good athlete. mediocre player. very inconsistent

plus he's from FSU, who has not been exactly good on defense lately
