This is the main reason Drew Brees can't win an MVP. You have idiots like this making nonsensical arguments.

Lefkoe: "Uh, Im seeing a lot of people right now going 'Oh, Mahomes is good, but Brees is the MVP. Its really, like its the one thing he doesn't have in his career. He's really earned it at this point. Mahomes is gonna have more time.' This is not a lifetime achievement award."

Lefkoe: "Drew Brees is not playing better than Patrick Mahomes. Drew Brees cannot complete half the passes that Patrick Mahomes does. If you watch the game against the Bengals-Dump-off to Kamara-Dump off to Ingram. I would argue that, probably around 40% of Drew Brees' yards are screens, dump-offs, and slants that are taken to the house."
Simms: "And Drew Brees is awesome. We're not being haters."

Simms: "But what, to me and I think you're on the right track here is when you're in the MVP conversation-"

Simms: "Exactly. Mahomes makes the team go. Todd Gurley makes the Rams go. I would argue on the Saints the O-line and the running back tandem make the team go."
Lefkoe: "So you would put Andrus Peat in the MVP conversation?"
Simms: "Well I mean, their offensive line and their run game, and then of course Michael Thomas, so I can't sit there and go 'Drew Brees is the No. 1 reason that's making this team successful.' It's a combination of things, and of course he's still playing really good."

I agree with 100% this. I rather Drew get 2 more super bowls and never win a league MVP. But to argue and say that essentially if you take Brees away, this team would keep chugging on like a machine is laughable. What he does for this team is unmatched. We just don't see it all.
How many times he goes to the line of scrimmage and changes the play call based on the defensive look. The few games I have watched Mahomes play, he isn't nearly doing this as much as Brees. I am not saying Mahomes never does changes anything, but he mostly comes to the line and runs the play that Reid dialed up.

There certainly is an argument to be made for Mahomes for MVP. These two retards didn’t come close to making it. There are so many holes in their argument, it’s not worth responding to. These idiots are irrelevant, ignore them.

Not clicking the link, but if it’s Chris Simms then yes he’s the biggest idiot I’ve ever seen. He literally spits every time it talks, or at least it looks like it.
He didn’t watch the Bengals game. Is it really Drew’s fault that he throws a screen and they just run it down field for a lot of yards? I mean can’t we say the same for Mahommes having a ridiculous pair of pro bowl receivers who can out run and out jump most of the leagues secondaries? Or when he dumps off to Kareem hunt?
I didn’t know having arm talent was the criteria of winning the MVP award. Jamarcus Russell for MVP. He can throw it 80 yds on his knees.

Or the fact that Mahomes throws it up and tyreek hill basically burnt the corner like he's toast? Or that cooks is one of the better deep threats to help keep safeties away from the box?
Or the fact Hunt hurdles a guy for 30 yard td. Or takes a screen for 70 yards. Or Kupp and woods are two very underrated WRs?

So on average his air yards per completion is not even a yard... Sooooo....
