Baker Mayfield to start Sunday for Bucs

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is good to go for Sunday.
Mayfield injured his ribs late in last Sunday’s game against the Saints, but was able to practice on Thursday and head coach Todd Bowles told reporters on Friday that Mayfield is going to start against the Panthers in the regular season finale.
A win in that game will make the Buccaneers the NFC South champions for the third straight season and it would send Mayfield to the playoffs for the second time in his career.
Bowles said that everyone else on the 53-man roster is also good to go. Cornerback Carlton Davis and edge rusher Shaq Barrett both missed the Saints game, but they have been practicing this week.

Is this a British news source? Pitch and practise?

I guess the only (somewhat) silver lining is that there is no reason for Carolina to purposely tank the game. They've already clinched the worst record...which is of no matter anyway since they already traded their first round pick.
Their owner is at least mad enough to throw drinks at fans mocking him because his team sucks. So maybe, just maybe, the Panthers will empty out the bag of tricks and try to end the season with a win.

Since you want to waste time doing this- update us on the bears, seahawks, cardinals and packers injury report. Thanks mate.

First thing I thought of was use the term field, we fought a war so we didn't have to use ridiculous words like this.

In the UK, it's "practise" when used as a verb and "practice" when used as a noun.

I heard a stat today that the underdog playing for seemingly nothing has a shockingly high cover percentage when playing against a team trying to qualify for the playoffs.
Not sure how that breaks down to a situation like Tampa last week who knew they didn't need to win that specific game.
Two recent examples of teams losing do or die matches against teams with zero playoff hopes is Detroit over Green Bay last year and Jax over Wentz and Indy two years ago. Lost money on both of those.

Mike Lombardi spent a good deal of time going over why teams can't / don't just "tank" in the NFL like you see in other leagues.
Also explained how in the final game you'll usually get every teams best effort unless they just got bad news the week before or something like if Saints won last week but had been eliminated mathematically on Sunday night, for example.
Pointed out that when youre Tampa and in a do or die situation with shaky QB play guys tend to play tight, whereas teams like Carolina will be loose and out there having fun, playing for their tape and to go into the offseason on a high note

SirWinston reminds me of when George Michael got brained and woke up talking like a pirate.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your favorite team. But this is a board for Saints fans.

The Bucs are stupid to even let Mayfield play. If they don't think their backup can handle Carolina, they shouldn't be playing for a win anyway

Carolina is as bad as it gets against the run. I imagine there will be a ton of White running the ball with a little play action for the game plan.
Carolina has basically quit.

Carolina hadn’t been a pushover in recent weeks until last Sunday. The bucs have a legit chance to lose
