Obviously there are going to have to be existing contracts restructured and some players let go in FA and cut.

What is the consus on positional needs?

Haven’t heard any Carr news in days. What’s the latest? He being courted by other teams now?

They aren’t going to finalize it before the super bowl

Yeah, I wouldn't expect any news until after the SB. It is a media cycle type of thing even if there are things in place.

What do the Saints do in FA/Draft will be dependent. Wicked has a good post on this. I don't see the front office trying to tank, it'll be plan B.

Saw some articles speculating Texans may make a run. Although, I question if Carr would be interested.

They also suggested that after trading for Carr, they should sign Hopkins bc I’m sure he’d be anxious to go back to that dysfunctional organization

I'm thinking a reliable DT that can consistently clog up the middle and maybe pressure the QB but I agree DE also. Thou I think we may need more than a project. Davenport is more than likely gone. Cam is getting a little long in the tooth and making a lot of money. Not much else on the roster. Maybe a FA journeyman looking for a new opportunity and a 2nd round DE.

Draft another de? Granderson was starting over Davenport by the end of the year. And you gonna have to make Turner the third de just b/c you invested a first rounder in him.

We have tried twice in the last couple of drafts to get a 1st rnd DE. We just failed. But we do need a safety and a...pass rusher

Yep, my cousins sisters friend is an agent. Her colleague’s boss was showing him houses in Old Metairie reportedly.

For the draft I’d like to see us go interior Dline and maybe a LB or Safety. Demario Davis is getting old :( still a beast though.

I’ve said it multiple times. OL, DL, Safety, and RB. You can never have enough quality bodies on the line, your safeties need to get younger, and you probably need a power back and a speedster back to spell/cover suspension of Kamara. You should also grab a possession WR, but I think you can grab that as a UDFA. However, I wouldn’t be against a WR in later rounds.

If you don’t land Carr, you push QB to 2024 along with Pass Rushing DE, LB depth and CB depth.

#1 priority is to resign Ony. He allows us to find cheap FA or draft pics to fill out the interior of the D-line. A must in my opinion. Maybe 10m per will do it. Tanoh, PJ and Shy are ones I would hope to keep. Davenport can go unless he wants to fit in here money wise.

Saints list of FA and RFA

Wish we could sticky a FA list.

Yeah signing David O is a must.

It’s sad that we have SO many needs.

Any championship team is built from lines back. Invest on both lines and find a good RB in the mid rounds. There will be many solid options in the 3-5 round range to be the power back to Kamara. I like Tajae Sharpe from Tulane although he isn’t that between the tackles guy he could end up replacing Kamara. If O’Cyrus Torrence is there at 29 and we don’t have a good offer to move out 29 for more picks I would run to the podium to replace Peat with.

Agreed- the best qb,rb,and wr are useless if the QB is on his back and no one can get past the line of scrimmage. At the end of the season we had at least 5 ol playing injured at one time or another. My observation is that once a played gets more than one injury the injuries multiply. Any Saints players come to mind.??

Lots but one in particular worries me. Ryan Ramcyzk’s knee. It’s going to be something he has to deal with his entire career and one that will more than likely get worse with age. I wonder if trading him now when we could still get some form of compensation as well as salary relief might not be the better play. Penning looks like more of a RT in body type than a LT to me so maybe you could move him there and try to find your new LT if not this year than next and go another year with Hurst at LT. Not ideal obviously.
