Is there a general consensus on a fan base, other than the saints, that are welcoming and friendly? I went to the ravens game last year and got along really well with the fans there. Really similar culture, there was alot of shite talking about who has the best seafood but it was all in good fun. They have a lot of pride in their city but arent assholes about it like bears fans.

I can confirm as I've been in it. It's not a good story though, as a 16 year old I was selling tickets on super dome property. I was only asking $10 a ticket but didn't know that it was technically illegal to do so on Dome property. An off duty cop decided he was going to cite the rule and confiscate my tickets to use for himself. I then went to an on duty police officer to question the law, who had the off duty officer brought in, who apparently was pretty high up and had us (my 14 year old brother an I) arrested. He called our parents in BR and we spent about an hour in the little Dome jail cell before we were given our confiscated tickets back and told not to sell on Dome property anymore by someone who was apparently higher than the off duty guy and said to get these fricking kids out of the jail cell.

Nope.

Shity people and shity City.

Just a bunch of basic buildings built on the plains in Illinois on a cold arse Lake. There are zero redeeming qualities about Chicago.

Somehow, considering some of the arse clowns I’ve personally known who have gotten paychecks from the NOPD, I can believe your story.

I went to visit my cousin in Chicago last spring and he told me that it was better if I didn’t wear any Saints gear when I was there. I didn’t and had an absolute blast. HTH

I'm a different type of character. I tend to use manipulation and embrace the BS that come my way. If I hear something I dont like, I would probably give them a thumbs-up and a smile. That type of character would eat them up inside.

07 sat in uppers. Fans were awful.

13 sat in club. Fans were great.

Maybe splurge a little and not sit with the trash. Likely a rule of thumb for any away game experience.

I was told my seats are in the visitors section. First level so I should be good inside the stadium. This will be my first away game. I’m obviously not going to go there looking to start any shite. Just want to have a great time. My wife thinks I shouldn’t drink on the trip lol

I disagree. Chicago is a decent city IMO. The people are generally good, at least the ones I know and met. I can attest to that as half of my family is from Chicago area and some great people with expected exceptions.

Chicago sports fans are generally terrible. I can attest to that fully. Besides some diehard Cubs or Bears fans, their loyalty shifts at any moment. Most have no stake at all, but when a team is doing well, they are all in.

I was at 1990 Saints vs Bears 6-16 playoff game in Soldier Field and their fans were terrible. We were wearing Saints gear but weren't pea-cocking in any way. I personally got about 50 snowballs pelted into me. And my friends as well.

My dad RIP taught me lessons on respect at Saints games in the 80s. And my experiences with Chitown "fans" cemented it.

No one stepped up to stop the snowball pelting, but I will tell you to this day I personally have stopped Saints and LSU fans around me from being physically abusive to opposing fans. And it's generally rare for us, just some too young testosterone.

We've won two football NCs at LSU in last 15 years, a Superbowl, a complete railjob last season and stuff prior and yet we didn't burn our cities down in celebration or despair.

I don't get this. It seems to be normal outside of the deep south to destroy and set stuff on fire in celebration or despair. I remember oldtimers saying if the Saints ever won the super bowl that the people would burn the city down. The total opposite happened.
