As a Saints fan, i like the Manning family generally.. but i’ve never understood what they have against LSU instutionally, must be that Archie attended Ole Miss in the beginning, i guess.

Why does this come up over and over. The Mannings have never been anti LSU. Archie has many good friends in former LSU opponents and other players. Yet, this same unfounded comment comes up constatnly. Please cite any reasons you believe the Mannings have a bias against LSU other than Peyton and Eli chose other schools.

Peyton and Eli made their choices for their own reasons. Peyton chose Tennesssee over Ole Miss where his father was a legend. Was that anti Ole Miss?

Instead of these unsubstantiated and unflattering posts why not just post positive comments about the younger Manning and give him the feeing he would be warmly embraced by the LSU family. What did or did not happen 20 to 25 years ago is irrelevant. The Mannings dont operate like some monolith. This latest Manning will make his decision like the others, on his own. Lets give him nothing but positive reasons to choose LSU if he actually gets an offer. LSU won't offer him on his name alone and he won't come if offered if he has to hear anciet resentments from cluelss people.

Except, the odds of a Manning becoming a good QB is more likely than JJ.

You'll care when the kid is playing for Ole Miss and beating LSU regularly. No Manning kid will ever play for LSU BECAUSE Archie went to Ole Miss. I think it might be like Drew's kids choosing to play for the Falcons.

They might reside in Louisiana, but that’s a Mississippi family.

The reason Peyton didn’t come to Ole Miss is because the program was in shambles after a ncaa investigation and staff overhaul. Plus, the fact Cooper suffered a career ending injury did not help. At least Eli got to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Really hope my journey last long enough to see the next generation of the Mannings develop & progress. Cannot argue about genetics. He will always carry the “Archie’s grandson” tag regardless of how far he goes.
Watching the video, pretty good mechanics, great footwork for his age & better than average accuracy. He has the foundation to really become a great QB. The coaches at the “home school” may have a little influence also :-)

Disagree.

I mean, yeah maybe in certain pockets of Uptown New Orleans.. but do *most* people nationally, or even regionally, think of Peyton Manning as ‘Archie’s kid’? Absolutely not, that ended probably 20 yrs ago.. it’s like when Harry Connick Jr became well-known, lots of us from NOLA knew HCJ as Harry Connick Sr’s kid because we’d grown up with Senior as New Orleans District Atty.. now it’s barely known anywhere outside of NOLA that HCJ had a dad who was prominent.

If Arch has the type of career it looks like *might* be possible (though it’s VERY early)- then Archie will be known as Arch Manning’s granddad who used to play football in the olden days.
