Sean Payton said Saints LB Alex Anzalone had a more extensive surgery on his shoulder this week than originally expected. So he is not likely to be able to return from IR this season.

Hasn't his shoulder been the issue his entire career? It's time to move on.

Sad man. Seemed like a talented guy, but just cannot stay healthy.

Jesus... love the dude, but that's gonna be hard for him to come back from, as injury-prone as he is.

I think he still has 1 more year left on his rookie deal. I'd be surprised if he wasn't at training camp in 2020.

If he can't get healthy...it won't cost much at all to cut him. Hopefully he can stay healthy next year, b/c he has a lot of talent.

Which means he'll be healthy, have a great year, get a big contract, then continue to be plagued by injury

Saints DL Mitchell Loewen was wearing a new jersey today — No. 88! He’s playing both TE and DL as they look for ways to get him on the field. He said he played TE as a sophomore in college.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Has anyone heard how long Cameron Tom is supposed to be sidelined? It would be nice if we could get him back on IR-to return.

We also have WR Keith Kirkwood, TE Garrett Griffin, LB Josh Martin, & LB Colton Jumper on IR. I don't really see a dire need for any of them though.

It still annoys me that we used an IR-to return on Tommylee Lewis last year. We chose him over Josh LeRibeus.

His contract makes it very easy to cut him next year.

2020 cap # - 1.025 mil
2020 dead money hit - 216 k...that's peanuts.

Yep and I just think we need to give someone else a shot in camp. Maybe the draft.

Ok we are going two TE, deep I formation, run first offense. With limited WR it will be our new Identity till Bresus returns

I didn’t find his instincts that great in the middle and always though he should’ve played OLB.

We were shopping at a scrap yard when we got him and we knew it. I guess they felt he was a chance worth taking.
