Anyone questioning or hating on Sean leaving this shitshow

Exhibit 1: Mickey “I do what I want” Loomis
Been a Saints fan my entire life but I honestly can’t stomach them until Loomis is gone at the very least and really until Gayle sells the team like she should have done when Tom died. She doesn’t give a shite about the product on the field and this yankee frick has carte blanche over the entire organization to keep running it into the ground yearly because he refuses to admit the team blows and needs a full rebuild. Hell Sean should have left sooner I’m sure he saw the bus going off the cliff years before he actually hauled arse and Mickey will be driving it smacking his gun happily off the cliff because he knows he has unlimited times he can frick up and still be employed. I honestly hope Carr starts every game and we go winless next year. Nothing would please me more.

Sean had full control of everything. He had no plan post Brees.

frick no. He knew it was time to go. Saints got a good trade amount for him, and he got what he wanted: away from an organization that was no longer viable for him.
And in 2 seasons he’s taken a moribund franchise with a horrendous qb deal and turned them into a relevant team. All the jealousy around here over him clearly being one of the top coaches in this league.

Payton raved about Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield & Lamar Jackson. We all see that Loomis is stubbornly loyal to aged, washed vets. Mahomes could have been secured by trading up just a few spots but it's a good possibly that Loomis wasn't on the same page to do so especially if he wanted to "protect" Brees.
Mayfield would have cost a fortune to move up to get yet Payton is gambler. I could easily see Payton being willing to make such a move for a QB but not Loomis. Just like Mahomes, the Saints brought Mayfield in for several workouts & spent a lot of time with him at the combine. Mayfield even commented on how great it would have been to learn from Brees.
Lamar Jackson could have been taken at #18 instead of Marcus Davenport but at the time it would have been considered a reach yet not so much now. If anyone remembers there were a lot of rumors about the Saints taking Jackson & even Payton mentioned being infatuated with his skill set. Once again, Loomis would have blocked picking a QB to protect his veteran QB.
It's becoming obvious that there was some sort of conflict between Loomis & Payton when it comes to the future direction of the team. Just look at what Payton did within 2 seasons at Denver. In his first season, he completely overhauled that roster. Year 2, he drafts his future QB. After seeing that, there's no way anyone can say that Payton wasn't down for a reset with the Saints while Loomis continues to keep trying to piece together a roster while continuing to say that the organization isn't far off from competing.

Y’all have Loomis derangement syndrome
As if Payton didn’t do what he wanted, when he wanted

Payton has been gone for four seasons
Loomis has not changed a thing. Tough take anyone who defends him seriously

Let’s compare CSP
Vs Loomis without CSP results

Sean Payton went 7-9 three consecutive seasons. An elite head coach doesn’t do that. He was somewhat overrated.

Not defending or endorsing him. But it’s bullshite that Payton retroactively gets a pass for any bad decision. He quit and Loomis didn’t so it’s all his fault now.
OP seriously said Loomis didn’t allow Payton to draft Lamar jackson. Come on.

This is revisionist history. Payton had full control in the draft.
Loomis is doing a terrible job and need to go there is no need to create false narratives to make that case

Who is defending Loomis? The idea that because Payton went to Denver and drafted a QB there fore he would have taken Mahomes or Jackson or any other QB but Loomis wouldn’t let him is just complete nonsense. It’s creating a narrative to pin blame on a guy that doesn’t need any other blame to justify getting rid of

Payton left because he or more likely his new wife wanted to move to LA. He took the Denver job because the Chargers job didn’t open last year.

The Saints didn't draft a QB in rounds 1-2 as Brees career was winding down & have still yet to do so. It took Payton 2 seasons to do so in Denver. Only a fool would see the two things don't add up.

Yes because of poor DC hires & poor defensive drafting. Changes were made for the better but it just sucked that those changes occurred as Brees physical abilities went down the drain. On the other hand, what in the hell has Loomis accomplished in his without Payton? His greatest accomplishment was hiring Payton & even still, Payton luckily fell into his lap. Without Payton, the Saints don't get Drew Brees. Without Payton & Brees, there is no Super Bowl victory.

Does Loomis show loyalty to veterans to the detriment of the roster & salary cap or not?

If any single [person is responsible for the crapshow we are in right now, it is Sean Payton. Mickey's biggest mistake was hiring DA seriously and then doubling down until Gayle stepped in. Every coach who has been at the helm since Mickey has been in charge has had full control of the personnel.
When asked about finding a replacement for Drew, Sean would point to Tasom Hill.
Of course he did, he was driving it. He was just to arrogant to admit they were headed for a cliff.
So you admit you are a shitty fan who would prefer to be right as opposed to the team you claim to be a fan of winning. Got it.
