Anyone else think Drew Brees is kind of lame as a football commentator?

He’s very vanilla and doesn’t show much personality. It’s like he’s scared to say something dumb.
Maybe it’ll just take some time for him to come into his own.
Right now Tony Romo >>>>> Drew Brees as a commentator.

Yea, I very much agree. He tends to fumble his words a lot too, doesn’t seem as natural as Romo.
However Brees is way better than Marc ducking Sanchez that we had on our game today. Jeez that dude came off as a douche with the personality of a door knob

He's always had an awkwardly lame personality. Great guy and clearly had a different persona on the field, but I agree that this isn't a natural fit for him. Doesn't mean he won't work on it and become pretty decent over time.

I agree Drew is stiff but Romo is terrible. Automatic mute. And I liked the guy as a player. But he’s the worst; so cringey, always getting wayyy too excited.

He is not very good at all. I remember when he was interviewed as a player after a bad game he was never showing any emotion of anger when you fully expected to hear it after a ooor showing. Just too self righteous and rah rah, but I respect his accomplishments as a player with the Saints. He’s better off probably in a front office executive or coaching roll.
