We spent hours and days interviewing a bunch of minority candidates and then we just promoted the defensive coordinator, who is white. We might catch some flack for this one.

Also, it feels like LSU’s Ed Orgeron hire. Pretty lazy, uninspiring, and unimaginative.

This is a bad look for you. The Saints do not look bad for promoting from within.

You know the difference. I don’t have to spell it out.

They had to have token interviews because of the goofy Rooney Rule. I’m sure the national media will dog the Saints. Flores will probably add the Saints to his lawsuit.

Who cares about flack?? Outsiders (especially media) don't care about the Saints. DA knows the team and the culture. He's spent years learning from Sean. Its seamless. Its the right move. Its not about race. Thats preposterous. Its about winning. PERIOD. The candidates who did not get the job are gainfully employed by the NFL in very high paid positions. Theyll be fine and get their opportunity when its their time

Trying to see the hire as a positive but don’t remember an internal hire working out for a team lately. Seems like after u lose one of the great offensive coaches/play callers u don’t replace him with a defensive guy but Who Dat!

I feel like we were seriously considering Bienemy. For whatever reason we went with the guy in house.
1. Already has HC experience.
2. Has led this team and defense for years.
3. Will also likely keep most of coaching staff intact. This isn’t a rebuild with Allen.
It was with Bienemy or anybody else.

I feel like you're not a super bright fella so I'm not gonna post an ugly reply. So no, I don't think it's a bad look.

At least I confirmed my initial suspicions.

If we don’t interview minority coaches, we legit catch real flack. Don’t hate the player, hate the stupid fricking game.

Many defensive players (especially Cam Jordan, Demario Davis and CGJ) advocated for DA to get the job. If our defense (which, as strange as it is to say, are THE BEST unit we have on the team) wants him, that’s exactly who matters. He was definitely the best candidate. Screw ESPN, Flores and anyone else that had a problem with it. Let’s get an OC, a QB and another WR and shut the talking heads up.
