I would suggest a significant portion of those were due to precision throwing, timing, and body control.

Not because he was left alone.

Adding AB might just force defenses in to zone. If so, game over against Brees.

Zion and AB being friendly-As two NOLA sports icons should. Please keep in mind that both of these individuals have contributed equally to their respective teams in game achievements:

"Sean Payton said the Saints would need to get clarity from the league on whether Antonio Brown would be eligible to play this postseason if they signed him. Said for now they’re doing their due diligence and he was one of six receivers they auditioned."

They wouldn’t have to pay him. So no risk there. Only risk is to a roster spot.

Sounds like they want a WR for the playoff run. If so, AB may not be with the Saints the rest of this year or next.

Pretty sure a roster spot isn’t taken up with the exempt list, and he’s definitely better than any WR2 we have on the roster.
Obviously the contract is going to include a LOT of language that we could separate for any reason if needed.

Sign him through 2020 and roll with whatever the league decides, it doesn’t change anything if on the Exempt List, then we can go snag one of the other WRs from today.

This is a no-brainer

Team will be that much better in 2020.

Imagine AB, MT, JC, and AK split out with Murray in the backfield. And an entire offseason to draw up plays.

Oof.

Sanders has been a disappointment for SF given what they traded.

Except of course for the game against us where he shredded us giving them the inside track for HFA

And do you really not think he could have been better in our offense with Brees instead of a Shannahan offense with Jimmy G under center?

Nope, a 3 and a 4 and also got a 5 back.

So yeah I’d take that over an AB that may not even be allowed to play.

You get what you pay for.

Avoided the drama of a last minute signing of a guy that may not even be allowed to play.

After the way the league has fricked this franchise over the last 12 months, I say frick it. Go scorched earth on these bastards.

Sign AB and let them bitch and moan. After they've stolen a Superbowl from you what else can they really do?...

Antonio Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who accompanied his client on his visit to New Orleans and also met with Saints’ officials, said, “Antonio had a very good visit today and we will continue our discussions with the Saints."

Then that explains why they work out other WRs too.

Sign AB. When they exempt him, sign one of the other WRs they worked out too.

This is the plan.

Win/win.

He appeals, maybe we get him sooner than later.

My prediction is this is all punishment for selling all of our tickets to the Niners game and Payton is signing Tommylee to teach us a lesson.

Payton wants his legacy to be:

A: winning super bowls
B: teaching fans a lesson.
