If we’re true you’d understand you can’t judge an entire product after 3 games. Most of y’all probably wanted SP gone after 08 season. Teams turn it around, no reason to believe they definitively can’t under DA

I guess I just dont see the evidence, so far, that Allen is the problem. You may very well be right, but what's the evidence of Allen's failure at this early stage?

The defense is clicking, the draft picks and FA's look good, MT's rehab was handled well... The only thing on this team that looks like arse is #2, and he happens to play the one position that can lead to the entire team struggling.

I'd say the jury is still out on Allen, but Winston is clearly not the answer. And if you want to put the decision to start Winston on Allen, you'd have to ignore the play he made for Watson in the offseason.

Laughable. He's not been great but to blame him 100% is ignorant. shite, blaming him for 50% of the failures is ignorant.

eh, everything flows through the QB. If the offense cant sustain drives, it puts pressure on the defense, who is still only giving up 20 points per game. If the QB cant execute, they have to limit the playbook to plays within his competency. When the drives stall too early, the kicker has to try and land longer kicks. 4 of 6 of Lutz's attempts were longer than 40 and none were 20 or less.

Think about it... are you arguing that the receivers havent been great? Kamara and Ingram are both averaging over 4 yds a carry. The line has played well (Ruiz has stepped up).

I don’t think they fire him this year. A bad year and Carmichael gets replaced and Allen gets another year.

Maybe, possible, IMHO.

There's no serious candidate that would take the job. Look at it objectively, the Saints have no first rounder next year and they fired the previous coach after one season. You'd have to get through a terrible season next year under Allen to reap a true draft pick that would give you the chance at landing "that guy" in the draft. Most coaches get 2 years with losing records before they get the axe, that'd be my guess with Allen.

It's 50% offensive line play/coaching, 40% play calling (How can Carmichael, being mentored by CSP for 15 years, or however long it was, be completely clueless in play calling and game planning?), and 10% Winston. The guy is running for his life back there. Sure, he missed some reads and threw some bad passes, but seriously? He seems to do reasonably well, I say reasonably well, when he has more than 2 seconds to find a receiver and throw the ball.

I was okay with the Allen hire, but Pete needed to go. He didn't call plays during the SP era. Only that one year and Brees was still in his prime.

I though we should have hired Eric B. It would have been a change in offensive philosophy and also would have given Eric B the opportunity to show if KC success was tied to him or Andy Reid.

After all, Andy Reid has never sealed the deal until Eric B was the OC.

I think the play calling is limited based on Winston's limitations. Carmichael didnt just magically forget how to call plays.

Winston has been given conservative plays and he still pats the ball. More picks than TDs and he's taken close to 4 sack per game. Trevor freaking Sieman played in 6 games last year with nothing at receiver and only took 9 sacks behind essentially this same line.

It's Winston, he has been here for 3 yrs. He doesn't understand the offense. He has too many weapons not put up good numbers.

maybe if we had an involved owner but we dont.

this team still runs on cruise control so the contract he has will run out and then, and only then, will they look to go in another direction.

gayle DGAF about the day to day or anything else as far as running a team, she just deposits the checks

Yep. How many drives were killed because of a fumble or non-existent penalty? I can think of at least 5 occasions off the top of my head already.

True, but that's not the issue at hand. He's got the full playbook and I'd argue that Pete hasn't done a great job of calling the games.

Is there such thing as a drive stalling on time? What are you talking about?
quote:

4 of 6 of Lutz's attempts were longer than 40 and none were 20 or less.

He should make >85% of them too. Why have a kicker if he can't make kicks?

They've been really good from what I can tell.
quote:

Kamara and Ingram are both averaging over 4 yds a carry

And have both ended drives due to a fumble. I don't see you pining for their benching. Also, let's not act like they're setting the world on fire here. They both look average.

Since 4Q of week 1 I suppose so.

No, Allen needs to coach the tank year next year and then be fired. It would be a mistake to bring in a new coach with what’s going to be a very painful 2023 football season. Start fresh on 2024.

4 wins msy be a stretch.
Olave trade will cost us a top 3 pick and a franchise QB but … he can run fast.

i dont disagree with the notion but its not that simple, there is no way to know until the next draft.

that said, we had more pressing needs then a speedy receiver, yes we needed receivers, but not at that spot or at that cost.

we can go in circles all day what o-line needs were the most pressing, but i cant fault those who are upset we gave up next years #1
