Absolutely correct about Wes Chandler. By pure talent, probably the best wife receiver to ever play for the Saints.

I’d rather Tracy Porter or M McKenzie over Greer.

You have to put Vaughn Johnson at linebacker. Keep it at the Dome patrol only for this list.

I think the world of the Dome Patrol….but try to take an open look at what Demario Davis has done and try to keep him off.

Yes, I hear you. It’s just the Dome Patrol. I love Demario as a really awesome individual just as much of a football player. He’s got to be one of the best teammates another player could ever have. He’s Walter Payton man of the year material if he hasn’t won it already.

I like him but Vaughn Johnson was a lot better.

It’s a fair point. LB was the hardest position to settle on for me.

Stats alone dont really prove anything IMO. Different games at different times. Johnson had some studs that he had to fight with to get tackles. Demario IS the talent most years

EDIT:

quote:

The game is so different now than it was 30 years ago making it hard to just compare stats. Pro Bowl and All Pro years are telling how these players were compared to the field.

That is what you said earlier, so not sure why you went all stat heavy now. If you go by your earlier metrics, then they are relatively close.

V Johnson:
Second-team All-Pro (1989)
4× Pro Bowl (1989–1992)

Demario:
First-team All-Pro (2019)
4× Second-team All-Pro (2020–2023)
2× Pro Bowl (2022, 2023)

Right…so we have someone who is has made 5 all pro or 2nd time all pro teams, vs 1.

It’s Demario.

Vilma is one of my favorite Saints of all time. But he wasn’t with us for long enough to bump guys like Swilling, Jackson, Davis, Johnson, Mills, etc. off the list.

Not saying it’s not worthy of debate. He’s just that next guy. IMO, it’s a grouping of Jackson, Swilling, Demario. Then Mills and Johnson right above Vilma. Then a gap between them and Fields, Shanle, Fujita and Mitchell.
